Yeah that Leo Through the Years set was a bit of a joke.

The Playmates TMNT reissues from this century have been somewhat poor looking and dull so far. I hope the Movie Star reissues turn out better than the Rotocast set.

What has been the price point on these guys before? Less than $100? I have no reason to need this, but those original movie figures were my favorite things ever, so I'm all over this.

They're $40? Scalpers are asking for $300 EDIT: $40 is really cheap.... That's less than $7 per fig. |

That's one thing Playmates doesn't get much credit for. We can lament their lack of effort in many aspects, but they have really worked hard to make sure the TMNT brand sells at a kid friendly price.

For the sake of the artists who did the box, I hope Playmates includes the belts for the Movie Star turtles. If the belt molds no longer exists, Playmates should make new ones like Kevin Eastman did for the weapons and belts of the signed basic wave turtles.

Do we even officially know what's in this set yet? I've only seen speculation of what the 6 figures are going to be.

Unfortunately, we are going to have to play the waiting game. I’ve searched all over the net for an answer to this question last week, but there is nothing yet.

I would agree, but I keep hearing about people buying these sets just for the boxes, so maybe they’re onto something?

I hope Playmates uses Movie Star Splinter and Super Shredder over repaints of the latest Shredder retool (with the new legs) and basic Splinter reissue.
A Movie Star box set should consist of every Movie Star figure from the original Playmates toy line (the turtles, Movie Star Splinter, and Movie Star Foot Soldier). The Movie Star Foot Soldier might be a weak choice, so Playmates could use Super Shredder instead. Also, the Movie Star turtles need to come with the belts. The turtles should look like how they do on the box. The Movie Star turtles don’t need to come with every accessory, but including the belts should be mandatory for this release. You are perfectly on point. They saw people were only interested in the box with the previous set, so this time they are basically striking on that same hot iron.

Looks like the box set is available to order ...
But oh my god ... did Playmates lose the Movie Star Splinter mold or something?
