I am looking forward to news of a new direction. The sight of those ridiculous costumes made me confirm I made the right choice in stepping away.

... I don't think I read his issues, I believe they are among the ones IDW decided to ignore because of... Sensitivity reasons. |

I still think IDW has a weird off-limits approach from using characters from the Nick cartoon even though the show has been over for 5 years now. With the exception of Pigeon Pete they haven't used anyone else created for the show at all. I can understand the reason to keep the two universes distinct when they were going on at the same time, but now the 2012 cartoon is ancient history. Hell next year it'll be a full decade old already.
Kinda surprised they resisted the urge to pluck some characters from it like they did everywhere else. |

You mean that Nick has a weird off-limits approach in not allowing IDW to use characters from the Nick cartoon. Bobby mentioned years ago that they wanted to bring in Pigeon Pete and it was a "no." At some point not too longer later it clearly became a yes but still, there's some general hesitation there in the Nick approvals department. For some reason. If I had to speculate, Nick looks at IDW as the slightly older demographic skewing pocket TMNT universe existing way over there in the corner. Over here is their latest TMNT cartoon for the littler kids, with toys and merch and you name it. When you see characters exclusive to your TMNT cartoon for the littler kids popping up in the slightly older demographic IDW pocket TMNT universe, people/parents/sensitive types might associate the character's portrayal there with the littler kids cartoon version.

Well at first I thought this issue was pretty good (decent dialogue in the beginning) but then I changed my mind. ANOTHER running/chase sequence between Hob and Raph, wtf?? And really very little happened in this issue. There was a lot of talking about plans for the future, everyone palled around and ate some ice cream, and then Hob just gets out because of those plot device weasels.
I am intrigued by what Hob is doing with Lindsey (and I have to go back to look at her hand!) but I really need a new overarching plot or new writers to step in, something.
