Looks like Universal Pictures has set Jurassic World 3 to be released on June 11 2021.

"2021"

Even just thinking about that year makes me seasick. God, I feel like time is moving too fast or we're in the future now or something. 2021 sounds like the year of a sci-fi movie.

Well the movie is still almost 3 and a half years away, so its not like its already 2021.

3 years between each sequel, now that used to be the Star Wars way but instead we now have Universal treating its property with more respect making each sequel feel more of an event than Star Wars films which we can now get a new one very 6 months

Whats even funnier is this will be the defacto thread we use for when JW3 actually comes out and we post our opinions on it.

At least Lucasfilm was smart enough to get rid of Trevorrow.

Emily Carmichael will be directing. Not familiar with her at all but I like that for the JW trilogy Universal has gone for smaller unknown directors. First Trevorrow, then Bayona and now her.

I know I'm in the minority but I liked his JW, especially when compared to JJ's The Force Awakens. JW felt more of a homage to me while TFA was just a rip off. I know that's an "hot take" but I stand by it. I would've liked Ep IX with Trevorrow and I think he could've done something more exciting with it than JJ will.

At the end of the day none of the JP sequels have been excellent but they're all good dino action for me.

She's co-writing, not directing.

Oh good, Universal and Spielberg just said "**** it, audiences will watch this no matter who we hire to direct it" and hired Trevorrow again.

Jurassic World 3 will be a 'science thriller,' says Colin Trevorrow

Possible Thematic Elements for Jurassic World 3

Interesting fan speculation about what to expect for the movie:

Colin Trevorrow states that he's interested in having this genetic power going "open source" (as seen in the ending of Jurassic World 2), ushering in the term "Jurassic World".

A great in-depth video about possible themes (i.e. most notably, control, in relationships and man vs. animals/nature) for the final movie in this second trilogy:

If any of you are really interested in the whole Jurassic Park universe, character backstories, a cancelled cartoon series, comparison between the novel vs. first two movies, deleted scenes, and speculation (i.e. what if Steven Spielberg directed JP 3, what if JP was a rated R movie, what happened to Isla Sorna (Site B), how did InGen get Mosasurus DNA, what would Michael Crichton think of Jurassic World), there's a YouTuber who goes deep into it who also made the above two videos.

Why did the Camp Cretaceous thread get merged here? That's a cartoon unrelated to JW 3.

Won't believe it until it's confirmed, how do we know it's not just Bryce howard attention hogging? Something about the way she says it makes me feel like she's not hinting but just wanting some attention and it worked.

If it does happen I'd be soooo happy.

That's my bad. I thought camp cretaceous was a subtitle for the new film and not a Netflix series...and sadly there is no un-merge option.

Hahahaha. Have we reached the point in the franchise where the kids and dinosaurs are friends now? The movies will slowly change into talking dinosaurs navigating the intricacies and drama of Jurassic adolescence.

While this seems mostly an ignorant post on the franchise that isn't funny or relevant, the ending of Fallen Kingdom does bring up the problematic of dinosaurs in the main land. Trevorrow said he's aware of this and he'll be handling it well and we won't see something like a modern dinotopia or the like and that it'll be in tone with the other jurassic movies. But I'll be skeptical until I see the trailer.

Still, plenty of dinosaur action to be excited for the next few years until Jurassic Park 6.

I legitimately forgot about the existence of Fallen Kingdom until a couple weeks ago when someone brought it up, so there's that.

It's one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. I hope whoever wrote the scrip has done something about the gas leak in their office.
