Pretty much.

Although I also did end up enjoy Konami getting called out. That was pretty savage.

I have to say, I've been a pretty big Xbox fan for a lot of years, especially in the era of egotistical PS3 Sony, but they really are just starting to lose me to the weird Japanese game segment Sony is locking down the way they were in the PS1 era.

They're making the effort to bring over niche stuff like Yakuza and them announcing Yakuza 0 at PSX, and even weird sh*t like Nioh, is just making me care less and less about the stuff Microsoft is doing. Sony is a company hanging on every dollar. Microsoft is a billion dollar corporation who is routinely trying to throw money away. They need to pick up the slack, because if someone as locked into the Xbox ecosystem and Live as I am is starting to shift my stance, they're losing way too much ground.

Edit: but dear god this VR sh*t can't die soon enough.

Edit 2: NI NO KUNI TWOOOOOOO

Anyone here pick up Xenoblade X? The Wii-U was starving for a good JRPG but I hear its more like a MMORPG-lite rather than a traditional RPG.

I'm tempted to get it anyway to show support to the developer and for more huge open world games on Nintendo platforms. First impressions I'm reading online is people overwhelmed by how how huge the worlds are.

Stuff from this month so far

I love me my Famiclones but this one sucks nuts. The joystick is terrible and there are very few of these 108 games worth playing for even the shortest of whiles. Oddest thing is, I bought it at a Fred Meyer (local Kroger-owned store).

Another game that is not very good at all, but I am glad they finally made a KFP fighter. It just may be the worst Smash clone I've played.

This of course. Nothing special, but I do enjoy it.

Then of course this, which came out today.

Got back into Fantasy Life recently.
Already at 340h or so, I'm crafting perfect gear set for each life (max vitality for paladin, max Sp. Charge for crafting jobs etc)

Still missing some fountain items...

I still need to get started on that game. I haven't done so because I know I'll get hooked so I'm trying to go through my backlog first.

Aaaaand instead of going through the backlog I keep replaying bits and pieces of Ace Attorney Dual Destinies.

I also got Game & Watch Gallery 4 on the WiiU eShop
Zelda is a good reason enough to pay anything for that game ^o^

Try that on the NES version. It's harder.

So I'm now 3 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles X...and I am rather overwhelmed and confused. So far the battle system hasn't really "clicked" for me and I don't really know what the hell I'm doing. I'm mostly just using all the attacks I have hoping something works.

The game is definitely massive, but you can't really sense the scale of it as a person running around. I heard you don't get your skell mech until you're like 30 hours into the game, which is bizarre to me because that's a long way away. So I'm mostly just running around doing the main story missions and even then a lot of the boss fights are pretty difficult.

This is definitely a dense RPG. I'm going to have to study the manual tomorrow and read up online about the battle system and the differents arts/classes. I'm going to give the game a good chance so I hope it grows on me.

Double post, but its been 3 days and I've now put over 20 hours in the game. I'm up to Chapter 7 and want to get my Skell license.

There's a lot more grinding in this game than I would have liked. Before you can do each story chapter they basically force you to be a certain level before you can accept it, and they force you to explore a certain region to a percentage before you can continue. This can take hours if you're underleveled or didn't explore a region thoroughly by planting research probes and finding material. A lot of the basic quests to level up are filler with "go kill x amount of beasts" or fetch quests where they want you to collect a certain amount of nonsense in the wild.

I like the game, and its beautiful and has a good battle system, but man. Now I understand why people played this game for 80+ hours, the game is structured in such a way that you HAVE to devote time to it to even progress the main story.

Sounds like fake playtime stretching, but may end up saving your ass later in the game and can help avoid people going through the game underleveled, which creates fake difficulty instead. I'd consider the former the lesser of the two evils there. God I want that game.

Been juggling Resident Evil 4, Sonic Adventure 2, and Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga depending on what room of the house I'm in. Gamecube's in the living room, Dreamcast is in my room, and I keep my game boy in my brother's room.
