[Suggestion] Preventing spoilers

this is one of the reasons i haven't been browsing too many threads lately.

Spoilers just kind of happen, intentional or not.

and with just a few episodes left of the Nick series, i'd rather experience it for myself.

If people got temp banned for 1 week, it would solve a lot of problems. A 1 week ban isn't a big deal, it gives people a break to cool down and take a break from the forums. But also teaches a lesson.

On any other forum I've been on, posting spoilers blatantly for a new show/movie/videogame gets you banned. I feel like I can't even visit the Nick forum now until the eps air because I know any thread I click on will probably have someone mention something.

I bet that Leo/Karai shipping thread has Season 4 spoilers in it, doesn't it? Damn.

Which matters why? For the rest of the world they have not. And while some may be impatient and prefer to see it right away, there are plenty who willingly want to wait for when it's legitimately aired in their own country, or simply have to. Impatient people don't earn the authority to brush off and disrespect those who are or have to be more patient as sore losers for not being impatient like them.

If we had a bunch of Korean members who wanted to start an early discussion thread since they'd seen it, and others wanted to hunt the episode(s) down and join the conversation, have at it. But just spoiling it anywhere isn't right.

Fans who want to discuss the show in general, minus anything spoilerish, shouldn't be forced to entirely cut it out of their life that long and forgo talking about other subject matter because something might be spoiled. And what does it do to those who really love to speculate about the show and come up with their own theories? Kind of ruins the fun if someone is bound to run in and say, "No, this is what really happens!" Shame.

I'm adding my two cents to this thread.

If we have asked you not to spoil items in threads and thread titles, please have courtesy for those who have not seen the episodes yet.

If you want to be a troll about it and continue spoiling after a mod has asked you to stop, then you WILL earn yourself a lil break.

I don't like the idea of banning for spoilers, but Jester has been racing around trying to clean up spoilers in the nick section and elsewhere. The poor guy is burnt out...
