I saw this movie about a month ago, I forgot to post my thoughts here, but in all honesty...

I loved it, I'm really not too much into the action films full of destruction but yet, I really enjoyed this film for what it was, I can see why the critics think this is not a "good" film, but I found it very enjoyable and entertaining, especially Deadshot, Harley, Amanda and the Joker.

Suicide Squad's box office beaten Captain America: Winter Soldier

http://moviepilot.com/posts/4101007/amp

In its seventh weekend at the box office, Squad took around $4.7m to increase its US total $313.8m. Globally, it now stands at a huge $718.9m — that's higher than several Marvel movies, including Iron Man 2 ($624m), Thor: The Dark World ($644m) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($714m).

All of those movies had a budget equal to or higher than Squad, making DC's supervillain movie an undeniable success.

Okay so I finally saw this, though it was amazing (despite some shortcomings), totally loved it.

Buuuuuuuut then I went & read about all the re-shoots & deleted scenes, & I'm now pissed the hell off. All kinds of cool stuff was chopped to sh*t so so as not to offend softer sensibilities. Changing Joker/Harley's relationship from a toxic/abusive one to something more idealistic (while still obviously wrong in every way) being the biggest muck-up, which seems like it was done just to avoid being thought of as sexist or something.

Leto got robbed, & so did we. I liked what he did, I wanted more. What a crime.

It's not quiiite that black and white. Those Marvel movies made way more money in earlier weeks, and generally studios get way, way more money from theaters earlier into release vs. what % the theaters get the longer out a movie stays in the theaters. It's certainly not a failure, though.

Beating Captain America: Winter Soldier AND Ironman too? Wowza.

http://www.cinemablend.com/news/1559...ccomplishments

Suicide Squad has also risen to the top of the music charts.

According to a new report from THR, we can now confirm that the Suicide Squad soundtrack has become the first movie album to go gold in 2016. In the six weeks since the film hit theaters, the album has sold more than 500,000 copies, thus making it the best selling movie soundtrack of the year. Considering the fact that the film came out less than two months ago, that's an incredibly impressive performance.

If you've seen Suicide Squad, then you already know that the soundtrack plays an incredible prominent role in the film. Unlike Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad features a soundtrack primarily composed of popular music. Although this tactic isn't exactly revolutionary for a superhero movie (see: Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, etc.) Suicide Squad sets itself apart for its use of a soundtrack that appeals to a wide variety of generations and genres. What other superhero movie can you think of that uses Credence Clearwater Revival, Eminem, The White Stripes, and Skrillex all within the span of a few minutes?

Speaking of Skrillex, the Suicide Squad soundtrack also set itself apart for its widespread use of original pop music -- such as "Heathens" by Twenty One Pilots, or the "Purple Lamborghini" collaboration between Skrillex and Rick Ross. In fact, Suicide Squad even dusted off the old promotional tactic of releasing tie-in music videos to accompany some of the film's original tracks.

Go #SKWAD making history!

Fvck that noise.

If you're not Peter Jackson, you don't have any business releasing subpar movies in theaters and then releasing amazing extended cuts on DVD later.

If Warner Bros can't get it right ON SCREEN (and remember, I loved Suicide Squad), then fvck off with your extended cuts and ultimate cuts. Not a single damn penny from me.

WB COULD have gotten it right on-screen, but Harley being in an abusive relationship doesn't sell as many Halloween costumes than if she's Joker's honest-to-God sweetheart.

And again, I'll maintain that I understand why WB cut that stuff. It's true to the comics, but it'll set people's hair on fire.

But now this damage control BS: Hey, we know people didn't like the movie as much as we'd hoped, so here's a BETTER version of it! Can we has more money, pleaze?

So basically, don't bother buying ANY WB/DC films. They'll all have "Damage Control Editions" on BluRay.

Huh. I'm actually surprised... I didn't think they'd go that route with this. Especially with Ayer lauding the existing movie as his ideal cut.

I'm sure there will be more, but it'll be a bit murky. Much of it would change the movie fairly dramatically... in some cases, you'd have to remove the reshoot footage in order to have the old, additional Joker footage put back in for it to make sense.

That was WB just yanking his chain. They aren't even subtle about it anymore.

It totally is, I bet WB threatened to shoot his dog or something.

For those who don't know, Larry Fong was the cinematographer for BvS.
