I know you've probably seen this around in the last few weeks, but I just wanted to mention that as of tonight, I sealed a deal for the very first illustration of the Shredder as we knew him in Issue 1.

I authenticated the claim through Kevin.

From Kevin:
Although there were a few other concept sketches of the Shredder around this time--once Peter and I agreed on the "look", I drew this character sheet we could use for reference while drawing the first issue--so we would know how many razors on each arm or leg as we worked through different poses in the book.

Once it is in hand, I will of course, take more pictures. But for now, there is a refresher as to what it looks like:

Thanks man, I'm beyond excited. The historical significance of this piece is off the chart.

that's a cool piece of history. I've got the inside lock on some other stuff from Mark that should go to me first.

Do I threaten you or something? That sounded really defensive.

And for the record, I'm fairly certain that in a business transaction where the seller is accepting offers, the product goes to the party offering the most money. So I'm not really sure where this animosity is coming from.

I think you misinterpreted that last comment or I just didn't type it out well. No, in no means am I threatened. This is my favorite thread on this site. I love seeing what is in other member's collections in the form of art. That shredder piece is awesome and I'm glad it's going to someone who will not only display it properly, but who will also share it with us instead of locking it away.

I was just trying to throw out a tease for others to let them know I've got the lines baited for some other cool TMNT art that a lot of people didn't know was even still out there including an early cover which I should have in my hands by this summer.

Again, my apologies if my words were misconstrued. Let us know your plans for this piece. Are you going to have it framed? I would dedicate a wall to it and put the Gob Gook cover you have next to it. You're on your way to opening a word and pictures museum of your own...lol.

Speaking of framing, does anyone know if there are certain frames designed for original art like this? I'm going to get some of my custom framed but I wanted to find a glass that was UV resistant (not that I would have them displayed in a sunny room but all the same) and that wouldn't do anything to harm the artwork over time. Just thought some others might know.

Somehow I never noticed this thread was here *laughs*

Anyway I thought I would throw up a few pieces.

This one was done by Steve Lavigne I used to be a HUGE Naruto fan and cosplayed him all the time: So he combined my two favorites into Leo-ruto.

Jim Lawson the cover to Tales of Leonardo: Blind Sight #3

Eric Talbot:

I will post more later

Probably a little of both. The lack of inflection in text makes it tough sometimes. No harm no foul.

yeah, no harm, no foul. I'm always guilty of never proofreading my posts before hitting submit which I guess I should just to make sure it doesn't come off the wrong way. No worries, man. Let us know when you get that piece in.

Thanks everyone!!

Here's a few more!

Eric Talbot:

This Splinter is one of his favorites and also one of mine!

I also have a bunch of coloring book pages from Steve Lavigne I don't even think this is all of them.

And this one is inked by Peter Laird. I think they get bored sometimes at Cons

More to come!
