Only in a small scene at the very end to tease Part 2 and Darkseid. Not sure if that rumor was true or not.

If they scrapped Part II before he even began filming JL then there wouldn't be any role for GL in his original cut.

Looks like new GLs Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz, an Earth woman and Muslim male, respectively, may be the main characters of the "Green Lantern Corps" movie -- not Hal and not John, or even Kyle or Guy. Mostly the moving will be "Finding Hal," with Simon and Jessica scouring the universe to locate him, who has been missing since the events of Justice League.

and it's a shame. The Green Lantern universe could be a way to have lots of diverse characters (true, mostly alien in nature, but still diverse!).

They could have done the same movie with john stewart and guy gardner. make it a good guy, bad guy buddy cop movie.

Hope this isn't true. You also have to make this movie accessible for the general movie public IE Kletus and Jane besides Hardcore DC Fans. General People know Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart. Most people have no idea who Simon Baz or Jessica Cruz is.

I feel like most general audiences don't even know Jon Stewart that well. I mean he was in the cartoons years ago, but I feel like the Lantern Corps as a whole are mostly only remembered by Deadpool making jokes about the 2011 movie.

Outside of established DC fans, more people than you think have no idea who any of these characters are, so I don't really think it matters which members they choose to lead. Or maybe that's just the people I talk to. Might be different in your circles.

Maybe, but it also seems to lend more credence to the rumor that the movie will be focused on Jessica and Simon, rather than any of the originals.

It seemed like Hal Jordan would be invovled if Geoff is involved. Hal is Geoff's favorite character to write.

I will not see a Green Lantern movie if Hal is not involved especially these two jonny-come-lately's from Green Lanterns title.

Well, the rumor says Hal IS involved... that is who Simon and Jessica are searching for. Presumably they find him at some point.
