Even though the event is two years old and seeing it several times, it still leaves one speechless seeing the cellphone videos of the August 2015 Tianjin Explosions in China. The viewpoint from the first video transitions from a seemingly insignificant "gas station" fire to an apocalyptic fireball inferno in less than minute. (See the video in "full screen" mode.)

There's a lot of Pokemon references and in-jokes, far more than I get since I haven't played Pokemon since Yellow came out (besides a brief stint playing Pokemon Go when it came out and everyone tried it) but the animation is great

Saw this as a clip on some Weather Channel show (because god forbid they be showing, I dunno, the weather) and had to find it. It's kind of mesmerizing and mysterious... Almost like some public art thing, but put on by nature.

Why are the ice sheets all squares?? Is it by design of the roof so they don't fell in large chunks? o.O
