Eastman Designed ThreeZero Figures
The Kevin Eastman designed 1/6 scale ThreeZero figures have been revealed. They're not based on Kevin's regular work but rather new designs he created specifically for this seet of figures. I like Mikey & Don's designs best. These have a very mid-90's Kirby The Fifth Turtle aesthetic which is good or bad depending on your specific tastes.
The photos can be seen in hi-res on Kevin's Facebook page. What do you think of these? If I can afford them, I'm definitely in for the set.

Those look pretty awesome. I would get Mike first, closely followed by Raphael.

It's just enough of a weird stylized update/departure from the original E/L "prototype" designs that now (always) I really just want proper figures of the Intergalactic Wrestling Turtles.

Just saved the pics to my photos.
As I said in the other thread, I like em. I think they are quite a ways off yet as no prototypes will be ready in time for sdcc, but the clay models certainly look pretty neat. I am definitely in for this set. |

These look like customs to me. I won't be getting these.

Already a thread for them
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=52676 Not a fan of the designs, and the paintjob on the prototypes is messy and rather dirty looking in a bad way, but reminiscent of ThreeZero's other work I guess. |

Not that the others wouldn't trigger the same emotion for me but especially Raph with this tiger pattern on the legs reminds me a lot of Kintaro from Mortal Kombat
I wonder what made Kevin Eastmade go that path in regards of looks for those turtles... |

Can i safely say on these forums that i dont like the look and proportions of these turtles? I know its KEvin's work but he did better, i dont know why they look so weak, kinda too human proportions and V shaped torsos , not my cup of tea, a bit like next mutation but worse.
Theyre canceled i see... they look like custom figures made from some wrestler figures by 11 year old kids, no necks, proportions very linear and overall bad, whoever sculpted these should reconsider his job.Worst turtles figures ive seen and its sad cause its based on kevin's work .

I aboslutely love ThreeZero's stuff, the Ashley Wood stuff especially is all awesome. I'd been waffling over a few different things from them and for them to release something Turtles related that's not from the new films should be my dream. I feel like I should be as primary a target as possible for this set but it just doesn't come together for me. Echoing the other sentiments in this thread, I'd probably still be up for them if they weren't all so huge. I plan on getting the mondo set already, and for what these are the price/size will probably keep me away. I do like Leo the best of them though.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the figures, I think it's cool that Eastman is getting the chance to experiment with the vision he has had for these designs.

They're okay, just kind of middle of the road to me and not really feeling any real wish to own.
Raph's legs creep me out though... Not sure if that was supposed to come across as stripes, but it looks like he's all gashed open. *cringe* |

I was going to say...it's supposed to be a rising sun flag, red and white right?
Is it because the rising sun is linked to WWII? |
