Just a couple of questions for fun.
Whats the rarest tmnt comic?Do you know what makes it so rare? What the most you have seen a single comic go for? Do you have a favourite comic story? This might have been done to death but surely you could give a new guy a fair go before slamming me. |

I'm not sure if you're asking these as trivia or just curious?
1) Most rare- well that I guess would come down to a first printing of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 from Mirage, just because it was printed in a fairly low number (since it was originally printed for a comic convention) and is pretty sought after. If you're going for actual lowest print run & number, I guess the Bodycount Hardcover from Image is probably the most rare, what's that limited to, 400-500 copies? Pretty hard to come by & valuable, but not as valuable as the first issue from Laird & Eastman. Not really sure what you mean by this one, I wasn't present when the comic changed hands, but I've seen a lot of comics sell in the 10s on the thousands on eBay, if I remember correctly, last year a copy of Action Comics #1 from 1938 (first appearance of Superman) sold for $3.5 million dollars. Favorite comic story is a tough one, for TMNT comics, its probably the Return to New York 3 issue arc from Mirage Volume 1. For non TMNT its probably either Kingdom Come by Mark Waid & Alex Ross, John Byrne's Fantastic Four run, Mark Waid & Ron Garney's Captain America run, or the run of Superman comics that encompassed Exiled/Day of the Krypton Man/Eradication & Panic in the Sky by the creators Dan Jurgens, Jerry Ordway, John Byrne, and others. Some arcs of Hellboy are up there too.

Rarest would be Turtlemania Gold probably (10 copies). Most valuable, probably both of the original Gobblydegook issues.

Hello,
I have already read TMNT issues but just a little. So I would like to read a good one with wise and memorable quotes by Splinter or somebody else (like The River by Rick Veitch for exemple). You know the kind of sentences that sound like philosophical sentences What would you advise me to read ? Thanks |

With that in mind, you'll find issues written by several Mirage alumni to contain philosophical undertones.

What comic/digest had the Turtles have an encounter with the gray aliens with the black almond eyes?

Was browsing Mirage's website and saw they still had the last two TMNT Adventures "Classics Digest" issues available.
Does anyone have any of these books? How big are they, and how readable? Yea or nay? |

I've lost all of my TMNT digests over the years, but if I remember correctly, they're the same size as the Archie/Jughead digests or the G1 Marvel Transformers digest, which are about the same size as the mini promotional comics that you see packed in with movies, or like the Justice League 4 part mini comics that were packaged in General Mills cereal last fall. I think they're some where along the lines of 5.5" x 4.5" give or take.

The "Sons of Silence" appear in TMNTA #11-13/Classics Digest #3 and #49-50, with an entry in Mutant Universe Handbook #2.

Is it true that part of season 6 was from the comic?

Was this the only time they appeared?
I remember as a kid picking up a, what I remember to be, black and white book where these things were in the sewers or something with the Turtles. I never read it, mom never bought it for me so I'm not sure it was the Archie book you have posted here (Thank you!)

Hmm... not quite what I remember...
But it's possible. I was quite young. I just always swore it had the darker, grittier look and black and white.

Just to confirm, the IDW series (change is constant etc) isn't just reprints of the original mirage series is it?
I want to get the ultimate collection vol 1, but also like the look of the IDW comics, just want to make sure there not the same storys
