Yeah, and I like the uniformity of all the trades looking the same.

Got Volume 1 and 2 in the mail this weekend... man, they are sweet. Loving them so much. Can't wait to get Volume 3 next month!

Now, what is the usual release schedule on these? How often do the Transformers hardbacks come out? Twice a year, three times a year? Anybody know?

Volume 3 is scheduled for August 23, 2016. It's hard to get a bead on the frequency of the releases, though, since the previous volumes met with a lot of delays (especially the first one).

You can scroll through the Transformers IDW Collection articles here for an easy list of release dates: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Transform...IDW_Collection

They started with a regular schedule of 2-3 a year, but quickly became "whenever". Sometimes only 1 a year.

TMNT may end up like that, with no real rhyme or reason as to when these volumes get released.

Thanks, Spengs! Hopefully the release schedule stays somewhat regular.

Seeing how each hardback collects (approximately) four trades each, the next release should encompass "Northampton", "Utrom Empire", "Monsters, Misfits, and Madmen", and "Turtles in Time" with the 2014 Annual.

Gonna predict a cover of General Krang or Michelangelo.

I really enjoy this collection and I hope volumes will be released as regularly as possible.
With the 3rd volume, we will already be half-way the series.

I wonder, what is the purpose of this collection as they are not including the micro-series ?
That looks like a big step backward in my opinion.

I know, Raph's and Leo's stories are absolutely essential to the first 12 issues. Donnie's is pretty close to essential as well, and Mikey's becomes important much later down the road.

Volume 4 is mentioned in Diamond January catalog - http://www.diamondbookdistributors.c...17SalesKit.pdf (page 22)

It collects issues #29–37, Utrom Empire, and the 2014 Annual.
Perfect stop, so we can put Batman/TMNT book right after it =)

And then, I guess, there will be two more volumes up to milestone issue 50.
Volume 5: Turtles in Time, Ghostbusters and #38-44 (15 issues)
Volume 6: Mutanimals, Casey & April, FCBD and #45-50 (~15 issues)
Any other thoughts?

That seems a little light... only 13 issues?

Volume 1 had 17.
Volume 2 had 17.
Volume 3 has 15.

Well, technically Annual is 2-issues long, so it more like 14 issues, but yes, you are right, this one will be thinner then previous volumes.

P.S. Now it's on Amazon as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1631408208/

Anyone know if Volume 3 was delayed?

I preordered through Indigo (Canada), and got an email the other day saying the release changed to January.

Amazon still has it listed for this week...

already being discussed here.

Long story short, that appears to be some kind of mistake and the book is still coming up soon, but it was delayed until September 6th.

Re-preordered my Volume 3 Hardcover from Amazon. I mean, c'mon... roughly an entire Andrew Jackson cheaper than the LCS.

My copy of volume 3 arrives on Monday according to Amazon. Can't wait to get my hands on it. A nice proper order read is always good in my book.

Cover art for the fourth volume!

Not what I expected. Looks beautiful, though.

cool! Weird they wouldn't save Donnie for #5 though considering the events of issue 44... and that they put Splinter ahead of Mikey in the running order... whatever I love these collections regardless.

I agree, I would have saved Donnie for issue #44+ and Turtles and in Time.

I think volume 5 will climax with issue 50, that would be a nice spot for Shredder to take the Cover and give Mikey (vol 6) #51+ as he strikes out on his own.

That's a good idea, I hope they go with that.

Yeah, Volume 5 HAS to have Shredder. After that, he's gone.

So are they skipping the Ghostbusters crossover in this collection? A real shame since it introduced a new Pantheon member. And given it was 4 issues its not a throwaway thing like the X-files crossover was.

Its bad enough the Infestation 2-parter was skipped, because even though nothing too important happened in it, it still would be nice to have everything in these collections. At least the Batman crossover has its own hardcover collection.

They will collect the Ghostbusters crossover; it doesn't happen until Hardback Volume 5, anyway.
