I love goofy, weird releases - so I'm glad they're making it, but I'll be passing. Shelves are too full for this, esp when I look forward to what's coming down the pipe for TMNT that I'm buying (Super7, bunch more NECA cartoon stuff soon, 1/4" Splinter & Casey at some point, etc).

Huge relief for me. I have really blown out my toy budget this year and had planned to pick up the SDCC turtles, assuming it would have been a 1990 film set. Happy to be wrong. These look great for those who are into them.

Target stores and Target.com will carry the Musical Mutagen Tour 4 pack on the 23th of July. Target.com 4 packs will be bundled with the accessory pack. For international orders, consumers can go to NECA?s online store to grab the $149.99 version (accessory pack version).

Are there any Target employees on the board that might be able to get us the placeholder for those of us collectors and non scalpers?

I do not think so. More users would be able to get a Leonardo and Shredder or Bebop and Rocksteady 2-pack if that were the case.

Don't sleep on Coming Out Of Our Shells or Count On Us either. Those 3 songs I still jam on spotify from time to time.

I completely agree that a SOTO box set would have been way cooler but at least we're getting Super Shredder, Tokka, and Rahzar. I've always been an advocate of having more obscure stuff too so seeing them do the OOTS turtles is still pretty cool.

It's unfortunate that the 2k3 turtles don't get hardly any love from companies though, it would be cool to see them in some capacity.

I pulled the show up on YouTube last night and made my wife sit through it lol. Had to show her the insanity that was OOTS while also explaining why I loved it so much as a kid with visual examples.

I would love them to do a set of 2K3 turtles, I'd be up for a full line of 2K3.

20th Century

The release of TMNT the Movie = The single event that started Turtlemania
COOTS = During Turtlemania
SOTO = Shortly after Turtlemania

21st Century

2k3 series = Long after Turtlemania was over. When the turtles were no longer relevant.

We'll likely see a SOTO set as another con exclusive for 2021.

And yet that series made them relevant again.

How did the 2k3 cartoon make the turtles relevant again?

The turtles franchise was quite.
And in 2003 a new incarnation brought the Turtles back on the spot light. You may not realize it but the turtles were back globally. And also green light the 2007 movie.
The 2003 series and the 2007 movie are all gems that don't get enough appreciation. And let's not forget the underappreciated Turtles Forever movie. That should have been shown on the big silver screen.

Turtles had basically died after Next Mutation, and even before that were in their death spiral.

The 2K3 series and toy lines were both successful, and spawned a ton of other merchandise. Before that series, it wasn't ever a given that TMNT would have another run or become a mainstay. Think about how many other franchises from the 80s and 90s came and went, never to be seen again. It was a bona fide renaissance.
