So what can IDW reprint?
Ok so going over a list here's what I think IDW has not reprinted in some form, from before volume 2 started that is:
#24 #25 #26 #30 #41 Grunts (which may still belong to Peter Laird) Gizmo and the Fugitoid (Gizmo should still belong to Dooney I think) A bunch of shorter stories And a bunch of crossovers that should be a legal nightmare anyway. Is there anything after volume 2 they may not reprint and what of the above can be reprinted? |

I still hope, the River-Trilogy (24-26) will be reprinted in this new "Legends" series...

Apparently the Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa crossovers from Tales of the TMNT Volume 2 are currently in limbo. The IDW Tales collections are going to be skipping them for the time being.
Also, ALL the Veitch stuff is off the table for now, so that includes the 2-issue Casey Jones miniseries (in addition to "The River" trilogy and "Sky Highway", as you listed). Some of the short stuff is available, like the Dooney and McCollum/Anderson pieces they included in the Classics trades and the Zulli stuff that will be in the "Souls Winter" collection. Other stories by the myriad of guest creators I really can't say. I mean, if they want to include the shorts where the Turtles meet, like, The Blazin' Tales Varmints and the Rock n' Rollin' Minor Ants, I guess IDW would have to work out contracts with those creators. But jeez, if that isn't bottom priority I dunno what is. |

Why is the Cowboys of Moo Mesa off-limits? Doesn't Ryan Brown know the TMNT fandom well enough to allow them to be reprinted?

Maybe IDW just haven't asked yet? They have plenty they can reprint without needing to pay extra royalties, sort new contracts, etc.
Hopefully they'll get to them eventually. I'd love them to get EVERYTHING reprinted eventually. |
