Day Shift vs Night Shift Work
Which one do you prefer? (You don't have to be working that particular shift)
Despite me working day shift most of the time, I will admit I like night shift work much more due to getting to relax and laze around during the day. Something about sleeping in while almost everyone else is off to work/school is so satisfying. Also Kind of adventurous to work during the dangerous night I guess? lol. And I its also probably because Night Shift work is more quiet and is more readily available due to almost everyone wanting a 9 to 5 schedule, resulting in longer working hours and more pay.

I suppose it depends if you like sleeping in the day and being up throughout the night. Juggling the 2 isn't good for your health apparently but some have to do it. I don't think I'd like to sleep all day (even I could ) plus you are more likely to be interrupted with noise outside etc.

I've done both. I don't like having to get up early. But I don't like the "countdown" to go to work in the afternoon either. I prefer to just get up and go. So I prefer day shift. At the company I work now, there is only day shift, so I don't really have a choice.

Although I'm a night owl, I prefer that time belong to me, not some job. Though I don't like too early shifts either... prefer a late morning start.

Day shift...
I don't mind staying up late if I'm gaming or on the computer or studying, but going to work past dinner time or past 5PM?! That sucks and is stressful. I don't like having to wake up early either, but at least that means I'll be done earlier as well. And also, I take better advantage of my free time when I work/have classes in the morning than in the late afternoon/evening. |

I've worked in both day & grave-yard shifts. There are things that I like / dislike about them both.
Day Shift Dislike: I have to get up at the butt-crack of dawn or earlier, depending on the job. Day Shift Like: The job is done. I can go home, take a nap, do whatever in what is left of my day. ------------------------- Night Shift Dislike: I sleep in throughout a good part of the day. Night Shift Like: I get to get up in the later part of the day, and it seems to work with my night-owl habit. Also, since I worked graveyard at several Wal-Mart's, there's fewer customers (even in the 24-hour locations that I worked in!) |
