I have a feeling that Hun is going to get his ass kicked in the worst possible way.

Very soon.

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

You'd be right.

From the sound of it, I'm guessing that Karai is calling upon Shinigami to come and kill Hun? (or maybe even Casey, since he and Hun have bit of a rivalry).

No, both Shinigami and Casey have gotten their asses handed by Hun before and with Mechanical claws (Syd), Chromedome's laser sword (Tsoi), a Nova beam cannon (Fong) and of course Shredder's gauntlets (Hun) at their disposal the Purple Dragons are somewhat more difficult to beat.

Karai knows that and instead called on somebody who'd kill them for reasons related to honor.

Watch this space to find out who that is and why.

I'm pretty sure that everybody who owns the IDW comic "Vengeance part 1" recognizes the dialog in the first two panels. It was what that Donatello was saying after his mind got transplanted into Metalhead's body when he was mortally wounded by Rocksteady who smashed his carapace in with a sledgehammer.

The large panel is a salute to that awesome panel Matheus Santolouco drew in that story, with Donnie's broken body in the freezer of Professor Harold Lillja's lab.

So DOES Karai have a Rise counterpart?

The only one who resembles her in both looks and actual role is the Foot Recruit.

Apparently, a reaction to somebody talking behind somebody's back CAN go over dimensions...

The Turtles in ROTTMNT, "train" by aping what they see in Lou Jitsu movies which Splinter (Who actually IS Lou Jitsu) watches the whole freaking time. As such they never truly train and let the fact that they have Lou Jitsu's DNA which instantly gave them their Martial arts skills do the rest for them.

Where as in the 2012 series, Hamato Yoshi trained the turtles in Martial arts from infancy and they never gave up on training to keep their skills sharp.

It's quite the difference. The thing Raph says here about "Putting a sword underneath your pillow and waking up a samurai", is what Donnie said to the Pulverizer in the episode which carries his name.

The exchange between 2012 Raphael and Rise Donatello somewhat reminds me of the moment in "The Foot Walks Again", when the 1987 turtles are called out for not using their weapons in combat.

And since Donatello is the only Rise turtle here, it doesn't seem like the 2012 ones will get to experience their magical weapons.

And the fact that Rise Raphael pushed Rise Donnie and April through the vortex that Rise Leo created before Donnie had the chance to snatch his tech or mythical Bo-staff also adds to that.

Leo: Swoosh, whoa! That must be the biggest warp I ever opened!
Donnie: (Putting on his goggles) Indeed, it is, I wonder where it leads to. Perhaps it actually might lead to another...
Raph: Well, why don't you go have a look?
He shoves Donnie in who in his panic grabs April and drags her with him.
Leo: What did you do THAT for? We don't know where it led and the only one who could tell us is gone now.
Mikey: Yeah dude, not cool!
Raph: Err, oops? Heh-heh...

Watching the "War and Pizza", "Donnie's gifts" and "The Purple Jacket" episodes, made me dislike "Rise" Donatello. He's Irresponsible, bossy and an ego tripper.

In all of those episodes, he goes "That wasn't wasn't my fault, I'm blaming YOU!", "I can't remember that, was I there?", "Yeah, it VAGUELY looks familiar although I honestly can't remember from what!"

April puts up with all of that and sticks by him regardless, her loyalty putting her through so much grief. I hope that in later seasons he'll start to appreciate what he truly has with her.

For some reason in the Dutch dub of the show Lou Jitsu is called "Joe Jitsu" and so I had Raph use that name.

In the "Trans dimensional Turtles" episode, when the eighties Turtles went from the 2012 world back to their own world, Raphael quips "Back in the real world at last."

Here Rise April is seconding that emotion, being totally out of her league in the 2012 world.

I had this scene in mind when thinking up the initial plot of the story.

The exchange between the two Donnies became funnier with every draft I did.

Ciro Nieli's development sketches of April for the 2012 series has her remarking that she's "Kuno-itching for some action."

I like that phrase so I brought it back.

The 2012 world had the "Antonio's Pizza" franchise, the Rise world has a Pizza Franchise with a name which Donnie would love to erase from History.

But he simply can't escape it.

A very big four page update for you guys. And while Rise Donnie and April are going home, Karai notices something worryingly.

What do you guys think might be going on here?

I'm guessing that the thing picked up by Karai is something from the Rise universe, but I wouldn't know since I'm not fully caught up on that show.

Perhaps an impeding invasion by the likes of Baron Draxum?

I liked the implication that Rise Donatello and April might have the same sort of dynamic as their 2012 counterparts.

The only spoiler I can give you is in the previous update of this story, look at the large panel at the fire escape. Look VERY closely...
