Part of why I didn't much care for the Image book was that I found it very try-hard. Pretty good example.

Surprised how much I'm enjoying this run. I never got to read volume 3 before, but it feels like a natural evolution of the Mirage books to me. Except I can definitely see the whole "Hey, let's cross over with a bunch of Image books" thing happening in the past couple issues, and I'm not super crazy about that. Still, TMNT loves their crossovers in most series, so it's not that out of place. It's not like they've hung out with Archie yet, haha.

Looks like they didn't fix any of the gaffes they could have corrected.

#9, for example, still has Leonardo saying (about the ooze) "Technically, he should've become more human, since that was the last thing he'd been in contact with!"

Ok, so now we're past the original halfway point. I can't really say it's improved much from the early issues but I guess they're at least done throwing new plot threads at us.

#12 was a good issue, Venus joke, and the coloring makes it all better. It really surprises me how much I love the Image series in color, I daresay I can't go back to the black and white issues after this.

I have to agree. I find it much easier to absorb and usually I hate it when IDW colours the B&W material.
