She's made them billions of dollars and frankly the franchise under her watch has had more successes (Episode 7, Rogue One, all the shows except Resistance, other stuff like the books) than failures (Episodes 8 and 9, Resistance, and Solo).

They were never gonna fire her.

The newer Star Wars movies aren't for me (the only one I really liked was Rogue One) but all but one have been huge financial successes. You could make a reasonable case that the one that didn't do big numbers (Solo) was the one to give all the ones baying Kennedy's blood exactly what they wanted. If I were Disney I'd look at that and be very happy with it.

A lot of her success was inherited, so it's hard to say. You have to look at the trend within the timespan of her working on the property. I'm pretty sure there has been a decline in numbers, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

If we've learned nothing else from following the development of numerous films over the last decade, there is ALWAYS an internal struggle or "civil war" going on behind-the-scenes at any studio.

Frankly, I'm amazed at this point that with all the nonsense going on, that any movie ever actually 1. Gets made, and/or 2. Is good.

Much as I'd like to believe there is a "civil war", I think its scale and intensity are overrated. People might hate each other behind the scenes, but corporate money keep everyone together and silent.

No-one will go out of their to please relatively small group of old fans and lose their job and antagonize Pedowood establishment.

I'm sure there has been some discussion on how there's some fans dissatisfied with the direction of the franchise but I'm positive the billions she's made them shuts that down pretty fast.

sadly, yes. companies are SO afraid of the big bad woke twitter mob, that they are willing to sacrifice reputation, money and power in order to win over twitter likes. it's honestly INSANE the levels they go to, when just 6 years ago, she'd have been fired at the first sign of mass failure or inability to lead. A guy would have been fired already.
