I'd like to see this make a comeback. I only ever followed SG-1 for a few seasons, but I liked the show and always meant to power watch all things Stargate at some point.

I once joked that JJ Abrahams will get his hands on Stargate and will **** it up like he did with Star Trek and Star Wars, but...I never ****ing expected it to be a possibility in a real ****ing life!!!
This is a clown world truly.

Does it annoy anyone else that the title of this franchise is spelled "Stargåte"? Makes me think it is about riddles.

I've never seen anyone writing it like this in a casual conversation.

I'd hope they'd want to at least want to have some of the SG-1 creatives in the room. Unless we're talking total reboot... which really isn't exciting at all.

I hope for a complete reboot - I don't want those rainbow-for-brains to ruin SG1 characters.

Movie is cool, but its own thing, more or less, in terms of atmosphere and characters.

Kind of. Though they did bring back even a couple of the same actors from the first movie playing the same characters in the show.

I feel as though Brad Wright has been talking about new series since the end of SG:U
https://www.gateworld.net/news/2022/...probably-dead/ It would seem getting the man who gave us SG:1 and SG:A would be a ****ing slam dunk, no brainer! So I can see JJ getting is hands on this, and then palming it off Bob Orci to destroy.

All I wanted was the Stargate Atlantis: Extinction and Stargate SG-1: Revolution direct to video movies we never got. It would've wrapped up Atlantis and wrapped up SG-1 quite nicely.

Well the issue there is a continuation can go two ways.
The Russell T Davies way, bring back Doctor Who, modernise but don't **** with the core aspects of it. Generally well accepted. Then there is the Bad Robot way of doing Star Wars/Trek. Then you think to yourself, maybe a full reboot wouldn't be that bad.
