No deaths except for the shooter. Excellent.

I don't expect we'll be seeing too much about this in the news. Doesn't suit the narrative at all.

At least this school officer wasn't a complete pussy like the one in Florida was.

"Someone who did not follow even the existing gun laws brought a gun to school, shot people, and was subsequently shot and killed by an armed guard in the school."
That's what I'm getting out of this.

I think he means in America
And he's right; it's not getting anywhere near as much press as the last school shooting

This doesnt fit the narrative of "all guns are EVIL!!!!!!" so they wont talk about this as much as they did Florida.

Huh, its almost like more people died in Florida than in Maryland also stricter gun control doesn't equal to "all guns are evil"

Sad, but I'm glad it was stopped quickly and only the shooter has died.
Narrative? The narrative should be that he was shot by "a school resource officer," as one who should be properly armed, not teachers. They hired the right guy for the job. More schools need guys like him, and never just one on duty. Can't say I've been looking too much for coverage of it so no idea how much it's being covered on the news (I'd originally just heard about it on the local news this morning, prior to the gunman even dying), but honestly it would not surprise me too much if it's covered less. Given the fact that it was both a smaller, shorter incident and happened in Maryland rather than a more high profile state. If it had happened next door in my own state it would probably be nationally heard about even less, if at all. Smaller and/or more quietly existing states don't tend to get as much coverage unless an event was rather large/tragic, so I don't think it's just some conspiracy minded "narrative" issue. If this was in a more high profile state or city (or if it was in a part of MD just outside of D.C.) they'd never stop talking about it. |

Of course the narrative is going to be the good guy with the gun stops the bad guy with a gun, and not how did the bad guy get the gun in the first place?
And why did he think he had the right to go after that girl in the first place? Where was he radicalized? And by whom? Because at the end of the day dealing with that is what's going to stop these shootings more efficiently. I hope someone keeps tabs on the girls so we know exactly how long it takes her to recover from this, if she ever fully recovers from this. And on the health and well-being of the good guy with the gun, because he just killed a kid.

Probably the section of the internet that is more than eager to validate someone's twisted views and tells them what they want to hear...that they don't have to take any personal responsibility, and that when life sucks and your ego hurts, esp when a girl is involved, it's always someone else's fault and people must pay for it. Even if they're uninvolved innocents.
We just had an adult version of him/them arrested the other day in this area after some guy in his 40s decided to set off a bomb in front of the home of his estranged wife's family. And had a few more explosive devices (at least one of them a pipe bomb) in his home. When did people lose this much touch with reality... |

Meanwhile, in other news.....
Austin has been dealing with a series of package bombs, using several different methods of detonation and/or delivery. Started with boxes at people's houses, then trip wires, and now they are actually having them shipped. Several people have been injured, and two have died, yet it doesn't seem to be getting any coverage except local news.....

Oh, no, I've been hearing about that one too over here. If they're all related, someone is some kind of psycho.
I feel for the FedEx people, given that they handle boxes every day... Talk about PTSD over fearing any other might blow next. |

Not that HE even knows the difference. I tend to disagree. The whole city is apparently on alert, and two more were found today.
