TMNT #96 Preview and Discussion

It's not much for a preview, but since it's releasing on the 31st and a thread hasn't started up yet...

Here's a short one?

Did Leo really lose enough blood to pass out that fast?

I mean, my brother would get faint just being in the same room as someone taking blood. If you ever give blood, they always have snacks and drinks to recharge you, and I’m guessing Leo has to give more than a typical blood donation.

So Jenny is taking it about as well and can be expected. She immediately went to the “maybe it’s not permanent” thought though. Truth is, we don’t really have time to freak out too much with their lives at stake. Makes me wonder if we’re going to have her break down over it after this arc.

Of course there’s also the chance that Jennika might not be mutated permanently but I’d guess it’s at least for awhile.

jenny is bigger than the other turtles right? i also wonder how much time has passed cause it looks like its already midday when they're talking with nobody and alopex.

Two thoughts:
1. It still seems weird that Jennika's hair just, like... absorbed back into her head? Falling out might have looked ickier afterwards, but still makes more sense.

2. I can't lie, while I can buy her being on "Leo" terms with Leonardo, he's the turtle she's had the most interactions with. It looks a bit odd seeing her saying "Donnie" and him calling her "Jenny" back. I do kinda feel like more groundwork could've been put down. Maybe some flashbacks would help in that regard?

Overall loving this though!

I hope if she changes back it is only a temporary thing. I also don't think Mutations are temporary in this time line. Bebop and Rocksteady never actually reverted, it was an illusion created by Savanti. Wouldn't one also need ooze administered every time they reverted to survive the transformation?

It's kind of ambigious as to wheter or not mutations can be undone.

First off, you're not exactly correct about Bebop and Rocksteady. Savanti accomplished this reverting their bodies to a previous age, for all intents and purposes they weren't mutants anymore, it wasn't an illusion. What's unclear is wheter or not they would eventually turn back into mutants regardless of Savanti or the Time Masters interference.

There's also the Gang of Four who claimed and demonstrated their ability to transform at will, simply by cycling the ooze in and out of their system. The problem with that is that when we see one of them lose a peice of his face, we can see he's mostly artificial underneath, implying there's a lot more going on.

It's from the Mutanimals mini, Pigeon Pete kept suggesting someone invent a blueberry soda/cola and even pitched it to Null herself after she was defeated.

(I actually thought the scene with Natsu sneaking sodas while Karai was out was really funny, simply because that would be a factor for Pete to just immediately want to befriend her. And somehow, I want that to happen so badly)

You just made my day, Utrommaniac! I chuckled out loud when I wrote that scene with Natsu. I felt like it was pretty funny and then wondered if anyone besides me felt the same way after the issue was released to the world. Glad you got a kick out of it, too!
