Shredder Helmet Restoration

If this is not allowed I can delete the thread. Anyways everyone please feel free to post up your props and production materials!

I will start with pieces I own from the original 1990 film, and then the 1991 secret of the ooze.

First up are shredders original costume pieces. These include his original gauntlets, shoulder armor, leg armor and hand claws. Included are 2 original continuity photos. After speaking with the original costume maker, I found out the crudely made hand claw was made for the dummy shredder that was thrown into the garbage truck.
Someone had the other original helmet restored with the original trifected crown from the first film.

This is my helmet.

Some history on it. Drome member Navin Johnson mentioned in prior posts, that all 3 helmets were re used for the 2nd film. So technically a part 1 helmet didnt exist. After part 1 finished filming the original creator of the 1st Shredder helmet did not return for the sequel, but they re used what was left over.

This helmet in particular was in need of repairs and missing the silver trim that covered parts of the gold squares. It also had a top blade from part 2 that was latex rubber and warped. It was actually stuck under another part 2 helmet until I purchased it from another drome member

Since I had the top blade from the first film as well, I had Tom Spina convert it back to the original part 1 helmet. Some of the gold squares were glued, which created smooth areas, so I called on Tom Spina to complete a sympathetic restoration. In the photo above the blade is slightly higher than where its supposed to be, so he lowered it before returning to my possession.

So you own two of three helmets? How did you come to own the helmet?

Cool deal. How much does one cost?

That turtle costume...oh, the horror of abuses it has been through.

Here is a pic of my full foot soldier costume. This was purchased directly from an actor who played a foot and most recently it was on display at the cape fear museum in North Carolina.

I think Geoff is involved in some serious voodoo stuff. I'm convinced he practices some sort of weird Native American rituals in his backyard and original props materialize in his house.

Again, great work Geoff!

Ok this is a genuine bo staff used in the original 1990 turtles film.
Before everyone comments that Leif was making fakes and there are 10+ Bo's out there.

This one is not wood. It's actually rubber and painted to look like real wood! It has a wooden dowel rod inside for rigidity but sadly it was broken during filming and repaired.
Like my other weapons there is some green paint on the leather.

Back in 2012 Navin Johnson mentioned that there was a set of weapons on display at planet Hollywood, well this is the bo that was there. It was used in the apartment fight, and when Donnie and Mikey are on the street fighting.

Not sure if it was used anywhere else, but there was 1 real bo which can be seen when they are training at the farmhouse. According to Steven ho, Ernie Reyes Jr gave him that bo when he filmed the sequel.

I purchased this from profiles in history along with the Chuck's used in part 1.
Those we're also from Planet Hollywood.

BTW another cool tidbit. The gumball machine to the right is the actual machine used in the toy store of part 2. I've stated this in previous posts.

Hahaha, one of these things doesn't belong!

I miss my aluminum TCRI canister. I'm glad it's in a good home with kickass roommate props.

Some scrapes in the "wood" bo.

I learned something new. I always thought it was different helmets because The Shredder sharpened the bottom part of the helmet at the opening of Secret of The Ooze. Furthermore, there is weird wood colored squares plastered on it that always looked odd to me as a preschooler or as an adult.
Spoiler:

I am tempted to ask how many hundreds the Shredder helmet cost, but I am trying to get a decent copy of Batman#181 at the moment.

You're at least two digits off if another helmet surfaces.

At public auction, that would be the bare minimum.

I don't know why, I was thinking 8k. It was just a number that popped into my head. I would love to own one, but then if I did cough up the money for it then I would not know where to put it. Its the reason I did not get the Arcade Game cabinet. I might be able to afford that one no problem, but its a "where do I put it?" situation.

I cannot get over how the completely different helmets in TMNT I and TMNT II are the exact same prop.
