Kind of, April will play the same as the Kickstarter version but will have a different sculpt and card art.

Not sure I'd want another copy of Universe 8 but that is a pretty sweet cover... actually it's my favorite Eastman work that he's done since he joined with IDW.

But hey at least it's not another #1!

Character card has same abilities but with new art (that doesn't match miniature pose), special cards are the same just with other art they had to choose from (same artist as in KS version cards), dice are the same, mission book will be available for original backers in PDF and then there is the comic.

The miniature itself is still same scale as other April, that means off scale qith all the rest of figures in the game and is presumable done in the same run than original campaign, so same quality issues are present.

So not excatly 'completely new'.

Well I will admit I've never played the game or even looked at the instructions... I bought it just because I like the look of the figurines and cards... but the fact that they use "ALL NEW" and "EXCLUSIVE NEW" on all of the stuff on the IGG page made me think that it is, indeed, ALL NEW and/or EXCLUSIVE NEW.

I really want this but if indiegogo/Idw think I am going to pay $30 for shipping to the uk they can dream I'm.

I didn't pay that to ship the whole board game. Very disappointed. I would have loved the comic variant 😖

You backed the campaign?
They announced this 'expansion' (God, it hurts me so much every time I read they call it like that...) would be coming to retail later on, but only changing the sculpt from the one in the KS version.
They said nothing about the comic and an Indegogo campaign, but I'm interested on neither so it's a big pass for me.
