I don't see why they were aiming for a May release anyway. Is there any reason why they didn't make it a December release like the last two? Episode 9 isn't coming out till 2019 either way.

Yeah, Chewbacca looked at Mon Mothma's butt for a little too long one time in 1982, so they're digitally replacing him with Captain Panaka.

I had a dream that I watched the movie and hated it and was going to post my review on the drome right after but then I woke up

In my dream they literally used scenes from the OT with Ford as Han and just redubbed his voice

But oddly enough my thoughts have totally changed on this movie after the dream. I do think the movie will be bad but it could be a good/bad EU type story but on the big screen. I'm now curious to see what they do, it's not a story I ever wanted to see but hey, who knows.

I kinda miss that it isn't getting a December release. It just feels like a Star Wars tradition now.

Also, I don't really care to see "young" Han Solo and Lando because... they never seemed "old" to me in the original trilogy. I guess Ford was about 30 in the first film, right?

In comparison now, they look really young. But even until now, I never really saw Ford as a Crown Prince of Youth.

It's probably going to be a Super Bowl thing. There's no way they can hold off later than that. It's getting too close to release date.

Aside from TV spots I don't expect a ton more past that. I suspect, given rumors they expect this not to do well compared to the usual Star Wars stuff, that they're going to keep promotion cost low to guarantee they recoup their money.

I actually hadn't thought of that possibility and it would probably cost less than a Super Bowl spot, which go for obscene amounts these days.
