I wonder if the positive reception for Wonder Woman will impact the production of this at all. Like, "Goddamn now that Wonder Woman is good we can't screw this up" kind of mentality. Granted Justice League could be a mess, but I hope this one is good.

To no surprise to anyone.

I mean, didn't he sign some contracts or something, meaning he has to star in this thing?
I think he also cameoed in Wonder Woman, right?
Plus, they'd be paying him loads of cash.

There's no way AT ALL he won't be in this thing. Why do people still doubt that?

Nope. He did not. I kind of wanted him to, though.

Ben Affleck has a chance to be the greatest live-action Batman yet. Which honestly shouldn't be much trouble. I loved Keaton's Batman but he wasn't that realistic a Batman, the less said about the next two the better, and Christian Bale was better as Bruce Wayne than Batman.

Ben Affleck's scenes were the best part of Batman/Superman, I have no idea why people are not hyped especially with Matt Reeves as the director. The new Planet of the Apes movies are fantastic, and he wants to do a more detective film-noir Batman?

How can anyone not be jumping for joy and kicking their heels together?

Reeves is scrapping the Affleck/Geoff Johns script. Gotta think Deathstroke won't be the villain now.

I could still see Slade used as a second in command, or hired gun in the movie. Which is what he is, basically a bounty hunter or work-for-hire assassin. The main villain could be The Riddler or Penguin if they want to use someone mainstream and hasn't been in the Nolan films.

I'm quite glad to hear this. I seriously doubt Deathstroke could carry a Batman film. Now give us the Riddler or the Court of Owls, give us a huge cinematic presence!

Nah, save Deathstroke for Suicide Squad 2 or maybe the Nightwing movie. Better fit.

Just not theJason Todd/Red Hood crap. What about Hush? Elements from his introduction story arc and maybe Deathstroke could take Prometheus role and the Heart of Hush thing dialed down. It could work into a solid film that has Deathstroke, Riddler, Catwoman, and others along with Hush.

I kinda hope we get a more menacing Riddler. Something smart like Heath Ledger's Joker mind manipulation.

Jason Todd for life, mate. Go suck it, trapeze boy!

You don't do a "noir" story with a big brawny bruiser (e.g. Bane, Croc, Deathstroke)... "noir" implies reservation, intellectualism, and mystery. For that, it's Riddler or Court of Owls as front runners, with Clayface, Man-Bat, or Jason Todd as maybes.

I'm fully expecting to see the Riddler. Familiar to casuals, tons of cinematic potential, and not terribly fresh in the audience's minds (unlike Joker or R'as al Ghul).

The fact that Jim Carrey's Riddler is still to this day the only movie version of Riddler we've seen since the 60's show, is rather bizarre. We need a more down to earth Riddler.

Jim Carrey's Riddler was just....Jim Carrey cosplaying as The Riddler.

Two things. One, this is only news to us because he's confirming it now about the scrapping. Affleck and Johns (hahaha!) would have been well aware this could happen and did happen when Affleck stepped down as director and Reeves stepped in months ago.

Two, I'm not really interested in seeing any live action Riddler again outside of some kind of villain ensemble piece. I wouldn't assume he's a given.

Not interested in a more superior sociopathic Riddler?

Who do you think might work instead for a "noir" film?

Just about any of Batman's rogues would work well in a noir Batman movie if done properly. "Noir" doesn't just mean Cagney in some 1950s alleys, or whatever.

I know the last "Joker Movie" was only two movies back, but I kind of feel like they need to do the DCEU "Joker Movie" now, with where things are at. "Suicide Squad" sort of awkwardly introduced the DCEU Jared Leto Joker and made him... a pretty nice guy, super in love with Harley Quinn. We've already had "The Dark Knight Returns" and "The Death of Superman" (basically), and even met (FAKE!) Lex Luthor... yet we haven't had a single Joker story yet, and here comes the Justice League movie in just over 3 months.

It doesn't need to just have the Joker. But he kind of needs to be at the forefront. But apparently whatever Reeves pitched is what is going to happen. Who knows what it is.

I kinda stopped caring. Other than WW, the DCCU has been a bust. Just shows you Batman works best alone.

I never liked Batman branding people. And he's essentially the older gruff Dark Knight Returns Batman, but he's joining the modern day Justice League? Do it right or don't do it at all DC/WB.

sad part is they think th ey ARE doing it right.

I never cared for the Dark Knight story anyway. thought it was overrated.

My ideal batman these days is a mix between brave and the bold and justice league. humor mixed with seriousness.
