They need to worry about their existing DCCU and make a Man of Steel 2 way, way before they start worrying about FAKE Russian Superman.

This is so true! They need to get the main Superman right before worrying about elseworlds versions.

It's an interesting idea... I think it will confuse the casual filmgoer though. I'm not sure how easy it will be to sell Red Son to China either.

I'd love to see it, but "in the talks" means little to nothing of substantial. The motion comic is is pretty good, so got that in the meanwhile.

Would much rather it be animated, but then I'd rather a different Superman story in the first place.

Jeez. How many movies does DC have in the works now? 15? Half of these will be canceled unless they can stay on track. Let's just hope Justice League is more like WW quality and not BvS, then the DCEU might be able to go places.

They only have 4 more movies coming up:

- Justice League in November
- Aquaman is already filming
- Batman with Matt Reeves as director
- Wonder Woman 2 is all but inevitable

Anything else is just in the discussion stages and will probably never come to be.

Of course they will. Scripts and ideas get recycled all the time. Even if the "DCEU" fails, in a few years, somebody will make a Flash movie or a Green Lantern movie. And with a bankable star like Margot Robbie, there is absolutely going to be either a Gotham Sirens or a Suicide Squad 2.

It's all about making bank and using your IP. C'mon, if Fox is gonna try to make another Fantastic Flop, do you REALLY think WB and DC will throw in the towel if Justice League is as poorly received as Batman V Superman?

They'll be reboots down the line, sure, but not anything immediately.

Superman Returns came out in 2006, it took till 2013 for Man of Steel. That was an 8 year gap.
