Kevin Eastman posted about going to NY for the reveal of some new playmates toys. I’m assuming it’s the ones he was drawing that variant commver of #1 for.

No pictures yet, but here's some press info on Playmates' upcoming Rise toys:

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Playmates Toys, the longtime master toy licensee for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is expanding its action-packed product line inspired by Nickelodeon's animated series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with brand new introductions including action figures, vehicles, role play and more.

Exciting new product introductions for 2019 include Babble Heads, which are interactive, talking Turtle buddies that come to life! These interactive train-and-battle Turtles have moving eyes, mouth and head, recognize their weapons, have over 50 phrases and sound effects and feature hilarious Turtle humor, including jokes, belching, farting and of course, Cowabunga high-fives. The totally radical toy line also expands with an extensive assortment of highly detailed, collectible action figures made up of Turtles in various guises, and brand-new villains from the TV series. The Deluxe Ninja Spin Turtles are ready to unleash the ultimate Ninja Spin Attack on any evil mutant that they encounter, while the Giant Battle Shell Turtles, standing over 10", are ready for any surprise attack with their back shell, secret storage full of weapons! Additionally, the line is expanding with new shell kickin' vehicles for the Turtles to rev up into action and a variety of role play, allowing kids to be their favorite Ninja Turtles!

SO apparently Super7 (MOTU Classics) also have the TMNT License now. They only have a sign at the booth so far that I saw

I'm glad they are toon-styled instead of video game pixelated.

Curious about how that is gonna work. What is the average price point of Super7 toys?

Curious, but I fear they'll just do Vintage 5.5" styled figures of TMNT and not a Classics approach

Edit: alright, now that I've seen the images at Fwoosh that Super7 is doing the He-Man 1987 movie with accurate colored Karg, He-Man and Langella Skeletor, both versions. And Classics styled Conan and Toxic Crusader, I'm a bit more optimistic about Super7 doing Turtles.

Insane to me its taken this long to get a collectors line but Im happy about it. I havent double dipped with any of these NECA releases that were SDCC exclusives because I got the exclusives. I'm not saying that'll change but Im tempted for the Gamestop Henson Turtles and these collectors packs at Target (assuming mine even gets them)

No idea. It only said coming soon so I have to wonder if they will just be part of their ReAction line that mimics the old kenner style. They do a lot of licenses like that. They are however showing a cartoon accurate Toxie from Toxic Crusaders priced at $35 and out Sep 19.. so maybe that much? Ive never bought from them so I cant be sure.

The Super7 sign:

From what I understand the TMNT figures will be the same size as the $35 MOTU Classics figures.

Those are so sick!! I’m beyond excited about NECA getting into retail and plan on buying all of the toon stuff. I just got the GameStop Henson figures but sadly Leo’s katana snapped while getting it out of the plastic and Mikey didn’t come with his hand swaps. I’ve been in contact with NECA though and I anticipate them making things right.

The Dimension X set is 2019's NYCC exclusive.

Well, considering the amount of detail that goes into modern collectibles, it's hardly surprising. Long gone are the days when one generic body mold could be used across an entire line of figures, which could each be given a new head and a cheap accessory and tossed on a peg for $5.

Frankly, when I'm holding stuff like the NECA movie TMNT figures I'm shocked that I paid as little as I did. I'm okay spending money if the quality is there. It stings, but I get over it.

Oh my gosh. They look incredible. I still have yet to open my GameStop 1990 NECA Turtles, but seeing these accurate Rocksteady and Bebops figures are making need to pick up the entire 1987 set when they get released to Target soon.

Imagine how amazing an Android Body Krang from NECA will look!

Yeah, this is really cool! Hopefully they do Toxic Avenger in that scale from the first movie.

Their Ren and Stimpy figures look legit too. I kindaaaaaa thought the Dolph He-Man figure looked a little toooo cartoonish for me, but I guess that's the vibe.

I really haven't followed Super 7 beside their small scale stuff, but I'm gonna have to keep them on my radar now since they also have the TMNT license.

Wow! This will be interesting to see how it plays out. So far, NECA have been the kings of the TMNT line so what will Super 7 try to do that hasn't already been done better by NECA at this point? Putting out more versions of the Turtles in their 1987 form is cool and all, but will people want them when they can pick NECA's up at Target?

Either way, still really cool!
