Fast Food Joint of the Day: McDonald's
https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us.html
Whats your go-to on the current menu? What's something you got that no longer exists? Is the McDonald's pizza THAT bad?

Never had the pizza.
I loved McD's as a kid and I do still eat it once in a while but they're the sh*ts, generally. Lousy service, always getting sh*t wrong like forgetting cheese on a burger (or putting cheese on when you say not to) and everything is soggy as f*ck. I generally get like, a double quarter pounder with cheese, some nuggets and fries. Once in a blue the fish sandwich is nice comfort food. I'll get a Crispy Chicken or one of their "fancier" chicken sandwiches. But mostly I only eat it if we're getting back from a wrestling show after midnight; there's one right by the house and at that hour that's all you're gonna find open. On the whole I'd rather have Wendy's any day of the f*cking week, though. BK is somewhere in between.

my go to is chips, diet coke with either a cheeseburger or chicken selects
sometimes I'll get a smarties mcflurry (when the machine is working) if it's for breakfast, I'll have a mcsausage or hash browns I've never tried their pizza but I did try their fish fingers years ago, they were ok as for menu items I liked that they don't sell anymore, Chicken McBites, I used to love those, I think you can still get them in Australia and New Zealand |

I can't get ice cream or flurries from a fast food place. I know for a fact they never clean those f*cking machines.
Buddy of mine said the one time they did clean it at the place he worked at, there was f*cking larvae crawling around on the bottom-bottom. And I've heard similar stories many, many times. I can't do it, I can't even think about it.

If I had to get anything from there, it would just be an order of fries, hash brown, or one of those pies if they still have them...
Haven't had McDonald's in years. Was never too fond of them, hate onions on the burgers and they seem to insist on it, and I stopped getting their food in general after getting chunks of bone on two different nuggets once. Ew. Done with their stuff other than the potato or pie products. |

I would love, love, love to see them bring back "The Micky D" burger. McDonalds had it for quite a while somewhere around 1993-1996 but no one seems to remember it ever existed. Basically the bread was like a baguette, there was a hamburger patty, then there was some kind of really unique salsa and lettuce. Delicious!*
Also favorites like the "McJordan" and their "burger of the month." The McRib, naturally. * edit: I found mention of it on the McDonald's wiki! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...d%27s_products "Mickey D. A 1/3 lb. burger introduced in 1993 with cheddar cheese, red onions, diced tomatoes and a zesty tomato sauce on a crusty roll."

This is madness. You're talking like a crazy person.
Never had any bone bits in my chicken but I do hate occasionally getting a chunk of fat or gristle or whatever, like "hard bits". It's rare but it does happen, inevitably. Their nuggets treat me fine but they're WAY better if you let them get kinda cold and then stick 'em in the air fryer for 5-10 minutes. MUCH crispier that way. Fast food should not require "homework" but this is indeed McDonald's we're talking about, the "Rub N Tug" of fast food places.

I've only seen pizza in a McDonalds once as a kid in Canada. I just went, "Huh. That's weird" and never had the urge to try it.

No, have always absolutely hated onions in everything and anything. You can have my lifetime share.

I usually get chicken nuggets, or just a large order of fries.
Before my diet, I used to get burgers from McDonald’s all the time.

People often "hate" onions - and mushrooms - and that puzzles me. What's the problem?

Love the breakfast sandwiches, only burger I ever get is the Big Mac (get it when I'm in the mood for the sauce). Hardly ever order much else. Never heard of the pizza there. I do remember having the salad shakers from ages ago, were ok I guess.

Now I quite like mushrooms. If you want a hater of those, see my sister. Also hate coconut for its likewise trait of being an unpleasant mouthful of chopped up crap hidden in stuff. Chives, scallions, chopped up bits of green onion, too, they just stick to roof of your mouth, who the hell decided that crap should be eaten. They and onions ruin too many foods. Was never fond of oats either... Last edited by IndigoErth; 07-28-2022 at 11:12 PM. |

I remember all McDonalds parking lots had tons of sparrows, all eating and loving the French fries people would throw at them. Then never again after they removed the pork grease from it or whatever they did.

Must have been a REALLY bad location, ours gets cleaned out regularly. Here'sa secret, guys. Whenever you go and they tell you the ice cream machine is "down", it's USUALLY because it has an automatic shut-down for cleaning every 24 hrs, so they HAVE to clean it when it does! And no, it doesn't matter what time of day it is. It's 24 hrs from the time they restart it after cleaning, which is an (usually) 2hr process (they literally have to take it apart and clean all the inside parts separately). So depending on when they start cleaning it (if there is a maintenance employee available to do it, otherwise it stays in shut-down) and when they finish and start it back up, that 24 hrs could be at ANY time of day, especially if the store is not a 24hr open location. That's why you can never get flurries at some stores.

All the McDonald’s I’ve been to have had really bad service, which makes me uneasy about the food. I get that it’s no fun to work there, but the dead-eyes, lack of greeting, or any sign of life really, aside from hoisting a bag at me, weirds me out.
Makes me think it ain’t clean in there. Love the fries though. |

When I'd work at McDonalds (and I would work the grill) all the guys there including the swing manager would go down into the freezer and pee on all of the boxes of frozen burger patties. It was like a thing to do/rite of passage. We'd also call it the employee bathroom. People would walk in and see you peeing on the boxes and just go "Hey, wussup" and leave.
