Geez, you and my sister. You both need to be Clockwork-Oranged into liking these movies.

(And that's in fun, Zarius. I like ya even if you don't like the same movie I do.)

I went to see Moana over Thanksgiving with a friend from school and her two sons aged 7 and 10. The youngest almost didn't come with us because, "Cartoons are for children."

After the movie I asked him what he thought.
"It's not my kind of movie."
And I laughed, because here was a seven year old kid confronted with something he knew he didn't like, but that the people around him enjoyed quite a lot. And when asked his opinion he responded with more class than I see from people online at least twice his age.

I gave his mom a high five for her top notch parenting.

A 7-year-old said that? That's kinda funny.

Kids always think they're older than they really are.

It could be cause of how he was raised by his parents.

Kids are really REALLY good at picking up social cues from the world around them, and they tend to be really conservative in their views.

Side tangent, and I apologize for the threadjack.
Little girl of a friend of mine, couldn't have been older than 6 at the time, asked me what toys I played with when I was her age.

I honestly said: Ninja Turtles, Transformers, He-Man.

She wrinkled her nose at me, scoffed, and said, "Those are for boys."
To which I replied, My mom told me toys are for whoever wanted to play with them.
She was not convinced.

Later, having overheard the exchange, my friend who is one of the most liberal, socially progressive, and intelligent women know told me repeatedly:
"She did NOT get that from us. I swear!"

It's been ten years since then, and I'm pretty sure the girl would be horrified if I told her the story today.

Trailer looks good. I just hope they don't go overboard with baby Groot. We don't want him to end up the next Minions.

Not necessarily. Fantastic Four (2015) had a record-breaking number of trailer views as well.

I wouldn't have expected that given the negative vibe about it from the very beginning.

I liked the first trailer. It looked pretty cool... alas, how far it fell.

It will be interesting to see which will do better between Spider-Man: Homecoming and Guardians of The Galaxy vol 2.

It could go either way.

Guardians of the Galaxy has a proven track record (1 for 1), whereas this will be the sixth Spiderman film... but then, he is Spiderman.

Spider----Man, people. Spider-Man. One glorious hyphenated word. I wish GK was still here, he'd back me up.

Eh. Wasn't much of a fan of the first movie and this looks like more of the same. Trying way too hard to be "wink wink" parody funny while trying to cater to internet nerds.
