There's plenty of fans on this board that didn't watch the first episode and got hooked off a certain episode and then watched it from the beginning. Proof is shown in this thread.

Yes we agree with you, that its meant to be shown at the beginning. But this is not what this thread is really about. Also many casual fans have never even seen the series before. Fred Wolf and the current series is far more popular and remembered.
