Multiverse count!
Thought this might be a neat thread. Let's try to count how many seperate dimensions there are in the TMNT Multiverse. I'll just throw up a couple to get started since I got work super early tomorrow, but let me know what else should go on the list and I'll update whenever possible.
Despite my personal opinion, I'm splitting up the movies, next mutation and TMNT just to avoid that argument. Feel free to get fired up about anything else, but I'm quite sick of that one in particular. If anything's in the gray area, I'll more than likely just split them up just to see how high a number we can reach. Here goes: 1. Mirage (Image) 2. Fred Wolf Cartoon 3. 4kids Cartoon 4. New Line Movies 5. The Next Mutation 6. TMNT (2007) 7. Archie's TMNT Adventures 8. IDW Comics 9. Nickelodeon Cartoon 10. Michael Zulli Comics 11. Hedden and McWeeny Comics 12. Mark Bode Comics 13. Mark Martin Comics 14. Same as it Never Was 15. 1990's Konami Games 16. Tournament Fighters Super Nintendo 17. 2000's Konami Games 18. Legend of the SuperMutants OVA 19. Playmates Toys 20. Smash-Up 21. Operation Blue Line 22. Matt Howarth Comics 23. Turtle Prime branch-off 24. Coming Out of Their Shells/Turtle Tunes/Turtles Christmas and other musicals 25. Dreamwave Comics 26. Super Turtles 27. Lightning Comics' "Creed" comic book 28. Minsk Publishing's Russian Comics 29. Mutant Turtles Gaiden manga books 30. TMNT Comic Strip 31. The Hyperstone Heist 32. Flaming Carrot Comics 33. Tournament Fighters Sega Genesis 34. Green-Grey Sponge Suit Sushi Turtles 35. Las Tortugas Ninja Comics 36. Palladium's TMNT & Other Strangeness 37. Simon Spotlight's Kid Books 38. Dan Berger's TMNT Letters (official website) 39. TMNT The Official Magazine 40. Equine The Uncivilized Comics 41. The Last of the Viking Heroes Comics 42. CBS Action Zone's Cyber Strike 43. Random House's Kid Books 44. Konami Arcade Games 45. The Manhattan Missions 46. Konami Gameboy Games 47. Bill Fitts' Adult Only Mini-comic 48. Arcade Attack 49. Ralson Cereal Mini-comic 50. Archie Future 51. TMNT: Out of The Shadows 52. Ninja Turtles (2014) 53. TMNT: New Animated Adventures Your turn Last edited by ToTheNines; 09-04-2013 at 04:03 PM. |

The Super Turtles are one...
If you go by images shown on Turtles Forever there's a Cube Craft Universe...

Aren't the videogames based on those particular cartoons though, essentially taking place in that universe? I know the 2k3 games had slightly altered stories, but that's just because they were trying to cut down a season to fit into the timeframe of a game.
Likewise I don't really view the Playmates toys as their own universe, I just see whatever mutant or character there that didn't get an ep in the cartoon to be a potential character to show up, but we never saw them. For all we know, perhaps the OT Turtles did have a battle with the likes of Pizzaface, Monty Moose, and Scratch, and the only info about that is on the card. Also TMNT Hero Turtle comics.... |

The 80's games and the toys I'd count as their own universes. They introduce characters from multiple universes and tend to hodge-podge. The 4kids based games, I'd say fit that universe...they don't add any characters from other parts of the franchise.

Turtles Prime/ Eastman & Laird's TMNT (vol. 1 #1) from May 1984
Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue Savage Dragon/ Highbrow Universe (the Turtles' crossovers with Dragon and Vanguard happened simultaneously in both their universe and Dragon's pre-Savage World universe) Big Bang Comics Universe (same as Dragon's universe) Whatever Universe "Shattered Image" happened in (FYI, Erik Larsen doesn't consider this miniseries part of the Savage Dragon canon, so I'd say it happened in its own little corner of the multiverse). Matt Howarth's TMNT (vol. 1 #41 and the Haunted Pizza one-shot special) Flaming Carrot Universe Cerebus Universe (maybe TMNT vol. 1 #8 happened simultaneously in both the TMNT and Cerebus's respective universes?) Power Rangers Universe (Maybe the same deal as TMNT and Savage Dragon's shared multiverse)

I'd say that's FW, but then again...it could be a splinter of the FW universe, ala the Archie series.
*Man I'm bad. I capitalized Splinter when it's the word...not the mutant rat....

So wait, you mean the original cartoon's Michaelangello didn't actually help teach some kid about the danger of drugs? Well I'll be. I just figured that Shredder and Krang weren't up to anything bad that Saturday morning (April 21st, 1990).

What would make this even more complicated is to work in tangents...
I.E: Fred Wolf --> Archie | V--> Cartoon All-Stars

I cast my vote for a TMNT franchise/family tree.

Turtles Prime/ Eastman & Laird's TMNT (vol. 1 #1) from May 1984 = Mirage Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue = Original (Fred Wolf) cartoon Savage Dragon/ Highbrow Universe (the Turtles' crossovers with Dragon and Vanguard happened simultaneously in both their universe and Dragon's pre-Savage World universe) = Mirage/Image Big Bang Comics Universe (same as Dragon's universe) = Mirage/Image Whatever Universe "Shattered Image" happened in (FYI, Erik Larsen doesn't consider this miniseries part of the Savage Dragon canon, so I'd say it happened in its own little corner of the multiverse). - Fair enough though it's so small I wouldn't even count it period Matt Howarth's TMNT (vol. 1 #41 and the Haunted Pizza one-shot special) - Ok Flaming Carrot Universe = 50% Mirage Cerebus Universe (maybe TMNT vol. 1 #8 happened simultaneously in both the TMNT and Cerebus's respective universes?) = Mirage Power Rangers Universe (Maybe the same deal as TMNT and Savage Dragon's shared multiverse) = Next Mutation No reason to branch these out into their own, obviously it's easy to put them where they fit...

What about Dean Clarrain and Dan Berger's comic strip? Would that be it's own universe?

What about that one TMNT/Spawn crossover someone posted here? Can that count as its own universe or does it have to be more than one issue?

I dunno, I'd throw it into the Mirage/Image universe.

Can anyone confirm that all the stupid live-action musical's are in the same continuity as one another?

I think so...the Turtle Tunes and Turtle Christmas have modified Getting Down in Your Town costumes, which was a spin-off (squeal?) of the Coming Out of Their Shells tour.

I recall the characters Scul & Bean borrowed their design from admitting to being roaches and talking about their king, who is named Kafka (as in the novelist who wrote himself transforming into a cockroach).

How about the different platforms of Tournament fighters? Was the story different between Sega and Nintendo versions? |
