But still ... not much has changed since then.

Such a shame.

Fighting can only hold boys' attetion so much.

Whether it be boys in the 80s wanting to heroically rescue OT April O'Neil, or CyberCubed and his Karai/Shinigami ship, you can always expect females in tmnt to be fantasy-able.

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

Well, if you mean in terms of diversity, yes I agree with you.

But even us thin girls of more modest build can still be moderately noticeable...

I'm sorry for my ignorance.

Yes, there should be more women/girls/femmes that happen to be plump, muscular, petite, etc.

That would be empowering.

Speaking of which, I hope we get a plus-sized April someday.

Empower yourself in real life. Stop expecting a little boy's cartoon to service the emotional needs of misguided adult women.

The cartoons are only so long, and there's so many young boys and misguided adult men who's emotional needs that must be serviced first.

Which girls are you guys talking about? All incarnations of April, Karai, etc. don't have huge breasts, they all have normal sizes for their frames/heights. Original toon April probably the largest but it fit her size (she looked like 5'9'' in that show), so it didn't look off. 2k3 and Nick April had regular size chests for their body frames. Same for all the Karai's.

Don't feed into the Tumblr BS. She's made it clear the only version of TMNT she was ever interested in is the Nick series. If she had checked out virtually any other iteration she'd know that there's representation for all sorts of body types, ethnic groups, religious backgrounds, & even species.

I haven't followed the context of this thread, but I think that right there is "inspiring quote" meme worthy. I may swipe this and re-purpose it for different occasions.

Speaking of diverse body types I do welcome more muscular women characters(I want to give thanks to the IDW artist who gave Karai prounounced biceps and created Natsu)

Name one plus-sized woman, please.

Don't worry. I'll wait.

Baxter's mom in the 2003 series.

Aunt Agatha in the Original Cartoon.

50 Foot Irma.

Bernadette Thompson.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Thank you. Those are some noticeable representations of women who happen to be plus-sized.

I hope that there'll be an active presence of Rise!TMNT writers that happen to be female.

Don't get me wrong. I'll still watch the show, even if all of the writers happen to be men. Still, I would like more gender diversity on and off screen.

It widens the perspective.
