Youtube bans pranks and challenges

We need to be protected from ourselves. Apparently.

You omitted the word "dangerous" from your title. It's the dangerous ones they're gonna ban apparently, not the most common ones.

People will never stop trying to upload stuff, so mostly it's them just deciding to remove some of it as they see fit...which technically is their right, being their site and all. If they don't want to encourage idiots to try dangerous stunts by allowing other idiots to upload the same, so be it.

On one hand, if someone is that dumb and encourageable (incorrigible?), why not let them get that Darwin Award they're so desperate for. But on the other hand, if it's partly covering their own butts in not wanting to be that place that some 12-year-old got some big idea that sent him/her to the hospital, I can see their point.

I mean, I don't agree with some of the reasons behind the decision, but I can understand why they're doing it. I've seen people do some STUPID stuff on youtube simply because they think it'll go viral and they'll become famous.

I'm all for stopping nonsense like that.

Agreed with this decision.
Some idiots don't value their lives and provoke others to do the same.

Shhh. . . it's no fun if we can't be outraged.

Just like how Tylenol made caps to keep people from opening their medicine. They said it's for our "safety". I mean, heh, do they want to go out of business? Sure, those people are children, but I need to be angry about things and I couldn't find anything else today.

Wow, had not heard of that one. Sometimes I almost think I believe that human intelligence has already peaked and is starting to rot.

There needs to be some "Darwin Award" emblem that's engraved on the headstones of people who die like this.

You mean two corporations who have a right to do what they want with their output?

Yeah, that's a valid comparison.

Oh, I see. I've only seen a few Sopranos episodes back in the day, so I'm not very familiar with the show, let alone that reference.

From what I know, him and his gf 'practiced' before filming. So idk, they must gotten the distance wrong or were one phonebook short when the time came to film it.

Weeelll.... You might not be far off. Nat Geo had an entire article several years ago about intelligence trends and the "dumbing down" of society due to overdependence on technology and media. It suggested that we may already be on the way down intelligence-wise. Interesting article, and a bit alatming, to be honest.

Not really.
One deals with medicines, another - with content for entertainment.
But "MUH CAPITALISMO!!", right?

If you're interested, and if you can do it, check out the third episode from the fifth season titled "Where's Johnny".

Well it is indeed a show that seems interesting, so I was kind of planning to eventually watch it one day. Dunno when I'll get around to it, though.

No one is showing any outrage so IMO it looks like you're trying to bait people into arguments.
