Looks like a 2017 writer's strike is going ahead.

Let's hope the studios come to the table ready to bargain.

It's one of those things, though... the studios probably figure if they just kowtow, they'll just be doing this again in another 5, 6 years. Their plan may be to stonewall the guild. This could be disastrous.

That's the thing though, they should be doing this sort of thing every 5 or 6 years. Media changes so quickly, that the terms of longstanding contracts should change to meet the new environment.

Pretty sure Rick and Morty is in the animation stage at this point. At least most of the episodes should be written, so hopefully it won't be affected.

Wish we had an airdate though

I thought I read July? But yeah, season 3 is *definitely* fully written. I'm just worried about stuff like Daredevil season 3, Luke Cage 2, SHIELD 5, etc.. Even X-Files season 11 could get shanghaied.

I've read so many conflicting reports about when it's supposed to start airing regularly, but I don't think there's been any official word on the matter other than just "summer".

Yeah, any shows not already wrapped and ready to premiere this year might be ****ed.

From what I've read, the last strike was painful for everybody involved, so I would hope that both parties can work it out this time with as little collateral damage as possible.
