Someone in my college got a little silly with some googly eyes, so of course I had to take advantage of the situation.

And then made the mistake of filming it portrait instead of sideways...

Now, I'm not sure if it's the same guy that spray painted an image of weed on one of the signs near my house, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Does anyone here have any experiences they'd like to share about giving up soda and/or drinking only water? I'm looking for a lifestyle change and wanna start there. I can look up the benefits and stuff online but I guess I'm looking for more personal stories.

I quit soda cold turkey a year or two ago. I tried the "slowly diluting fruit juice until I was only drinking water" trick but it didn't work out for me, but when I stopped getting soda and juice and just shoved some bottled water in the fridge instead, it wasn't very hard to make the switch. In fact it was a LOT easier than I thought it would be. And I say this as someone that loathed drinking water as a teenager, you could give me even the nastiest tasting soda and I'd still reach for it before the water. I get it bottled because the tap water here is rendered undrinkable.

So basically a gradual change didn't work but a sudden one did.

I've pretty much drank water my entire life and never had a cavity or dental defect once. Soda repulses me.

Water gets really boring and tiresome really fast. Been trying to drink more, so I slice up some lemons and limes, toss 'em in to give the water some flavor.

I knew a guy in college who drank way too much, his quantification not mine, soda. In particular caffeinated sodas. So he quit...and experienced withdrawal symptoms. In solidarity I gave up caffeinated beverages also.

If I drink soda at all, which I do rarely, it'll likely be ginger ale or a Sprite kind of thing.

So I'd suggest maybe starting there?
Caffeine free only, and then just more water.
Maybe flavor the water at first? Even just add a slice of citrus, if you're into that kind of thing.

This didn't happen to me and my sodas of choice were Pepsi and Mt Dew!

I'll try ginger ale and stuff, and maybe carbonated water. That's not less healthy than regular water, right? I dunno, haha.

Alright, thanks, homies.

Sparkling water is what did the trick for me. Flavored varieties that don't have artificial sweetener are the key. I recommend La Croix & Dasani's offerings.

I drink water and only drink pop very rarely such as if we get fast food or maybe once in a while I'll grab one from the fridge. But I feel drinking water is better for me and that's why I do it. I wish my dad felt the same way, but he hates our drinking water and he's been drinking it for forty-one years. But that's what happens when you suffer a stroke and your tastes change. We usually give him cranberry juice in the mornings and sometimes give him lemonade or orange drinks in addition to regular pop. I try not to give him too much of one thing and try to mix it up.

It's been happening less and less over time.

Water + Sonic Ice has become my favorite beverage lately.

Meanwhile, I have only just come to understand the horrific train wreck that is Chris Chan and I just can't look away...

Got a text by my dad, apparently I got a new brother. I didn't even know his new wife was pregnant, guess that explains the hasty marriage.

That makes him the 5th kid to my dad (as far as I know of )

I donno, he never tells me anything until last minute. Didn't know about the divorce until a week before it was finalized, he didn't tell he had a new girlfriend until he'd already traveled to Uganda to perform traditional "ask for hand" ceremony with her family. Got the wedding invite a couple of weeks before hand as well, was a hassle since it was in a different country.

Ah...well, that makes sense now. I think I recall the wedding invite and that you weren't going.

Meanwhile, I'm still in my pickle of trying to find some images that up and vanished off my computer. The recovery programs I've tried aren't that helpful. I have dozens of pictures from spring 2014 that I don't know where they went; they're from a pretty big period of my life.

I managed to get to the wedding, but my partner could not attend since we where not in a good financial period. The hotel was pretty pricey
