My excitement is tempered by my sadness that Mako won't also be returning.

Am I the only one who thought the original show was never really all that great? It had some cool action sequences and when I was younger it was just cool to see an action cartoon, but after revisiting it a few years ago I remember thinking how shallow the show really was.

Yes. Yes you are.
Go sit in a corner and think about what you've done.

Well if CyberCubed doesn't approve, I guess the show might as well be cancelled again.

I think I rewatched the entire show back in....2011 or so? That was long after it had been canceled and it was at the same time I was watching Young Justice and other shows.

The show definitely has some cool action sequences and the premise when it started was great...but it just didn't have enough stamina to be a long lasting series. Probably would have worked better as a mini-series or a 26 episode show at the most.

This is the best news ever.

I'm sad Mako won't be around to reprise his role. I don't know if I'd prefer Aku to simply never speak, for them to find a replacement, or for them to use old voice work. I don't know. That's a hard thing to think about. Right now I'm just super grateful to know Jack is coming back. Now I need to rewatch the series.

Also, remember when CC also thought Avatar wasn't good? lol

Probably my favourite cartoon of all time.
Hopefully I'll be able to watch it. Considering the fact I'm a Belgiass who can't watch this sh*t on television.

This news came at just the right time for me, recreational television watching-wise, because I just finished both "Jessica Jones" and "Cowboy Bebop."

Pretty sure that all of Samurai Jack is streaming on Hulu, so...yeah. Looks like I'll be finishing that rewatch I started a couple of months ago.
(this and Brooklyn 99)

Cool.

Never finished the original series, though. But I liked it a lot back when I was a kid.

You know what other show I'd like to see re-made, or more like finished? Megas XLR.

I never could get into it myself, despite being a fan of it's concepts/themes.

Its essentially just a toned down version of Usagi Yojimbo, and that's putting it lightly. I do think its artistically fun to watch and some action sequences were great, but the "story" was never really the reason to watch.

I mean its a kids show after all, it was aimed at the same audience as Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff girls, so it was fun when I was younger but its hard to sit through as an adult.

Putting it wrongly is more like it.

A yup.
The first episode is largely without dialog, you know...because if it's one thing kids will totally get into is storytelling that's all show and no tell. Especially little ones. They're the ones with the best attention spans.

Party on Genndy! I wonder if this will acknowledge the recent IDW comic run.

I knew this would happen eventually. The original show was too well loved to be left without an ending, and the success of the recent comic books let creators know that people were still interested in Jack's journey. I am very pleased by this news Hopefully the same will happen for Sym-Bionic Titan someday.

Looking forward to adding this new show to my DVD collection; right next to the original show.

I think this has to be my favourite episode; so damn beautiful.

Agreed. There's opinions, and then they're just being plain wrong.

Is the original creator involved?

I will not be the same without Mako.
