Lol yeah Donatello's suddenly extra popular when it comes to representing the hair of a middle-aged man.

Haven't read any of this series, but I love Jim Lawson's style on it:

Drawing Blood itself really grew on me with each issue, I especially loved the convention scene where Bookman is denouncing that the RRRR will be aliens in the new Morgan Harbor (brilliant parody of Michael Bay) movie! If you want a romanticized retelling of the origin and fame explosion of the TMNT, with killer art to boot, pledge to this Kickstarter! You can even get the first volume as part of this campaign if you missed it the first time. |

-Two small inserts advertising IDW TMNT and Bishop's Aggregate. (Similar to what a comic shop would put in the bag with every purchase) -Small green plastic ninja turtle figure (signed) -Neca Leonardo with Swords (signed) -Usagi figure that spins about 180 degrees at the waist (signed) -A small vinyl mystery box/grab bag style figure (Leonardo) -The somewhat recently released vinyl record of the 1990 movie soundtrack (signed, orange records). -Drawing Blood TPB (Eastman cover) -2 different covers for RRRR -1 TMNT Fan Club Variant -Bebop and Rocksteady Destroy Everything #1 (signed) I'd say it was fun, but overall not worth the price. I wouldn't say I was disappointed because I know the risks inherent in Mystery Boxes, but I wouldn't buy another on the strength of this one. |

I think it was used as a cover for a French TPB. |

It sure is. The first time I saw it was a colored version that was made into a print and sold at one of the Shellback signings a few years ago. Then I saw the B&W one repurposed when Kevin started up his fan club.

There's a "sketch-battle" between Ben Bishop and Troy Little streamed live on the Drawing Blood facebook page tonight from 7-9pm EST. There'll be auctions going for the RRRR art they sketch up.
EDIT: the bids are currently over $4,000 each for their sketch covers and still climbin til 9:30! This should be a nice boost to the kickstarter (assuming these bidders are legit). Last edited by funatic; 08-09-2019 at 07:09 PM. |
