Trouble with Triceratons

Does anyone believe the Triceratons attacking Earth in "Night of the Dark Turtle" in the 1987-1996 series are of the same species as in the Nickelodeon series? (If the crossovers are to be taken as canon for both series. Remember the Nickelodeon Triceratons seem to come from Dimension X)

The '87 episode that featured them were from outer space not Dimension X. Also, the fact the '87 Turtles previously met the Mirage Turtle a and have previously been to Turtle Prime yet it was like a first meeting. Another complication is Chr'ell wanted to destroyed the multiverse whereas Krang wanted to rule one universe. However, in the 2012 cartoon Krang wanted to destroy the multiverse and is an utrom banished to another universe. It does not mesh at all. All that being said it's just not going to work because of continuity errors creators developed as they wanted to do their own thing.

Well the latest crossover kinda contradicts the first Nick one. Krang refers to himself and Shredder as "multidimensional versions/duplicates" of the characters Bebop and Rocksteady know.

I've always hated the idea of him being a Nick Utrom, so that works for me.

The Nick cartoon itself is kind of weird when it comes to continuity details.

Maybe they are from Dimension X (the MWS series part), and later moved to some planet orbiting a star in the Milky Way Galaxy when the Kraang had destroyed their home-planet.

Who is to say at what time things happen? It seems all the crossovers happen before the "Red Sky" moments in the 87 cartoon.

I assumed that both Nick crossovers could've taken place before Turtles Forever.

The 87 versions have an eerily similar plan involving a generator that can destroy/transport the planet.

I'm still waiting for a Triceraton to show up as a secret character in TMNT3: The Manhattan Project.

Maybe Nelson's Rescue Palooza game is the closest I'll ever come though.

Do not forget Casey Jones. He is barely visible behind Don vs random Triceraton but he is there too! I never understood the video game cover art. The first game went with them posing on a transmat. The location made no sense for a cover. Not to mention the all red mask leading us to think it was a color print error. Not to mention that The Arcade Game (TMNT II) had Michelangelo with a yellow colored on the cabinet.

A lot of old videogame art for the NES era had crazy art that didn't match the games. You should see what the original Megaman boxart looked like.

yeah he looked like a dorky old man. And the MM2 cover art made him into a tall stiff looking middle aged man.

I would like them to come from a still-existing planet.
