Thanks guys for the kind comments. It's a truly special piece for me and I'm still pretty floored by it. It's been a while that I've been so excited by a piece. Sometimes when I get something, once its hand, I start to question wether it fits what I'm shaping into my permenent-never-gonna-sale collection, those special pieces I look at and just can't imagine parting with. And this Raph one, well, let's just it won't be going anywhere anytime soon! |

Very cool!!!
I have decided to thin out some of my OA. I will be posting stuff in 2 batches I think to make things easier on myself. I found that over the past few years I have had a severe case of Turtlemania and I have made a lot of impulse purchases. I plan on keeping most of my stuff from my favorite Mirage legends....but the stuff I bought just to buy is going to go. My collecting OCD doesn't like owning things just to own them. I plan on keeping that are special to me (items I purchased directly from the artists I love, things I watched those artists create, and things I commissioned via direct communication) Not to worry though, I plan on putting the money back into my collection, and possibly make a little TMNT nest that I can dip into when something really cool and special is available for sale. I also have 2 celeb CGC SS (non-TMNT) books that I am getting done this spring that are quite pricey....but major grails. I will keep everyone posted!

So I was just dinking around on the interweb looking at some Walking Dead stuff and I happened upon Tony Moore's store. I guess he does a "sketch of the day" and it looks like we went through a TMNT phase a few weeks ago. Krang & Casey sold, but B&R, Shredder, and Splinter are still available. I personally don't have interest in them as he is not a TMNT artist....but I do think they are beautiful.....thought maybe one of you may be interested. A bit pricey...but I heard he charges $600-$1k+ for commissions at cons...
Shredder (This is my fav one) http://www.tonymooreillustration.com...e-day-shredder B&R http://www.tonymooreillustration.com...bop-rocksteady Splinter http://www.tonymooreillustration.com...e-day-splinter

Here's a piece I ended up with, courtesy of Shellback Artworks... it was used on a Burger King Kid's Club plastic cup. Too cool to pass up!

I have been desperately trying to get a piece of vintage licensing art for years. I was so glad to finally snag one. This one is now beautifully framed and hanging in a place of honor!

I don't have much of a TMNT art collection but I got these last Summer and they mean so much to me! They are the two original art covers for "A Fishy Adventure" and "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles" from the Random House 1990 book series. As a kid I had broken my wrist on the monkey bars one Summer and my mom would read these to me every night. A Fishy Adventure was my favorite of the Four, I really cherish these and very glad to own something so amazing and personal
