The big 2-0!

Today is not only Halloween, it is also The Technodrome's twentieth anniversary! It's hard to believe that we've been around for so many years, but we really appreciate all the support from our forum moderators, forum members, site staff, site contributors, and all of our visitors. Thank you so much for sticking with us and helping us reach this milestone!

This placed survived the death of fansite forums and the rise of social media. Hard to believe a site from 1999 will still be going in 2020.

Do the young teens of today even register to forums anymore? Nowadays the younger generation is all on twitter or YouTube.

That is a pretty legit milestone. Especially beginning in '99 when specific forums were essentially a new phenomena.

I remember chillin' in the computer lab at school back in '97 or so. People would log in to this sort of bland "forum" with a yellow background and have completely unguided conversations for no other reason than the ability to speak to someone from another country. You can imagine how those conversations went.

So thank you for keeping this place up and running for some great people to chat TMNT!

Honestly had the revival of the early 2000's of TMNT with Volume 4 and the 2k3 cartoon not have happened, this place probably would have died off. I think a lot of people have forgotten that time was just people in their teens being nostalgic about the original cartoon and trying to hunt down VHS tapes and old comics, but it wasn't until the early 2000's the fandom really took a spike.

Hell, I remember most people originally registered to this forum because of the 4kids cartoon and people were so surprised TMNT came back to TV with a new cartoon.

This is actually a very good point. The longevity of these boards are also a testimony to the adaptability of the IP across time.
