I love workaholics, but I haven't been able to catch it in awhile. I have to watch this episode though. It sounds hilarious.

Feels appropriate to share the clip when you consider the villian in the Casey Jones Micro series was named Blake Anders.

April O'Neil's News Camera Reference

Hey guys.
Does anybody have a real life model of what April's handheld newscamera/camcorder looks like?
The cartoon version is too... bland and cartoony and I'm trying to find a real version I can use as a model to draw off of better so it looks a little more practical or real.

Early Pokemon design materials had a possible TMNT reference

Just thought this was a neat detail. Was reading this article about some early design work from before the first Pokemon games came out: http://www.glitterberri.com/pokemon-...y-concept-art/

The relevant part is here: http://www.glitterberri.com/pokemon-...concept-art/5/

"The Japanese name for Blastoise is Kamekkusu, but this picture calls him Karabajio. This is romanized to Caravaggio, the name of a famous painter who lived in Italy during the Renaissance."

So yeah, unless there's another reason Game Freak would have been making a turtle character and thought an Italian Renaissance artist name would be appropriate, I think someone at the office might have been a TMNT fan.

If anything, this makes a certain Smash Bros mod make a little more sense:

I'm surprised at how similar Pokemon is to the original TMNT cartoon.

Both basically followed repetitive plots with the heroes confronted by a trio of villains (Shredder/Bebop/Rocksteady) or (Team Rocket), and who blast off at the end of the episode. (Shredder and co. run to modules or portals)

Also both never lived up to their full potential, because both were largely episodic shows rather than having serialized plots.

That's pretty much any cartoon that's intended to run a long time though.

Heh, that's some interesting findings!

And, look, "Caravaggio" has his own YouTube series, too!

Another comparison to draw between them is that 4kids handled both series' and thusly the two shared voice actors. Ash Ketchum = April O'neil, Nano, etc. The voice actors of Brock/James, Misty/Jesse, and various Pokemon, all had roles as characters in TMNT, and just the same, all the turtles had a few one-off voice roles.

LOL, why did you list Brock/James and Misty/Jessie but forget that Veronica also did May?

Why does my not including her prompt an "LOL"? Who cares? Need I list every prominent character they did?

Because you were listed each VA that did two characters, like Misty/Jessie and James/Brock, whereas Veronica best known for Ash also did May for 3 seasons.

Had 4kids not lost the dubbing license during the Battle Frontier season, Veronica would have voiced May for nearly 200 episodes.

In Pokemon Conquest, there is a ninja named "Kame;" that sounds like a reference to me.
