Everybody wants to be in the Avengers films. Doesn't make any difference.

If we ever see more Wolverine movies, It will most likely be with X-23, She is the current Wolverine in the comics now.

Which will be dumb... since she won't be near-adult age until the distant, distant future in this continuity.

Looks good, but Hugh should carry on playing Wolverine for a few more years. He needs to be in the avengers movies, and Deadpool 2.

I think a neat idea would be to just use Kelsey Grammer as Beast and Hugh as Wolverine to represent the X-men in all these crossover movies.

Nah. It's just Old Jackman in Generic Movie-Post-Apocalypse-#7. And we already knew it was going to be R-rated, it was announced almost a year ago (thanks to Deadpool).

It looks good, I seen a lot of comments of people saying that it feels like "The Last Of Us".

The Wolverine films have a pretty solid track record of ruining about 20 X-Men characters. I don't think this is going to change anything.

That said, I kind of hope Liev Schreiber shows up to help Wolverine as Sabertooth. That would create some semblance of symmetry in the hot mess that is otherwise the Wolverine trilogy of terror.

Wolverine being an Avenger was as dumb an idea as Spidey being one. Doesn't fit either character. Avengers is Disney-owned anyway.

I don't care if the Wolverine movies ruin other X-characters; they're completely out of sync/canon with the main X-movies anyway.

It's why I like Origins a lot better than most people; I don't care about Deadpool, so I don't care that his character was royally screwed over. It's a fairly okay story, just not a good comic story.

Whereas The Wolverine has a terrible third act, no matter how you view the movie.

So based on the criteria of "standalone and ignoring the main film so-called continuity", if this movie can just deliver a good Wolverine movie that delivers a tight story with lots of heart and action, I'm in.

Not exactly. Everything pre-70s is still canon in "Origins," and the mid-credits scene of "The Wolverine" literally was a setup for "Days of Future Past"... even though the scene itself doesn't really make a lot of sense when you think about it.

I don't mind Origins. I'd probably rather watch that over most/all of the Singer films. It just has too many "trailer moments" and speeds too quickly through what should have been important beats.

I'd say highly questionable, not truly terrible. Just, like all of the X-Men movies, some really puzzling choices.

The movies are such a clusterfrak overall, that it's much easier to consider them all out of sync and completely non-canon than try to identify which parts of a movie "work" and which parts don't.

Agreed. I'll watch it before any of the original trilogy. Sabretooth and Wolverine are great.

The first 2/3s of the movie is a focused, grounded modern ronin samurai tale featuring a man with claws and PTSD. The most "out there" stuff of the movie is Wolverine's mutant abilities and Viper's mutant abilities. That's it, totally doable.

Then the last 1/3 features Wolverine being captured in a pretty dumb sequence (just keep ignoring those arrows, buddy, 'till you look like a porcupine) and then the climatic battle is against a giant robot samurai.

I repeat, A GIANT ROBOT SAMURAI. Who wants to steal Wolverine's healing ability in the most convoluted way.

Giant Robot Samurai = giant letdown.

It almost felt like a final boss from a video game.
