Knuckles The Echinda (Paramount+ Series)

Quote:
The live-action “Knuckles” series starring Idris Elba at Paramount+ has assembled its cast.

The show was first announced in February 2022. In addition to Elba reprising the role of Knuckles from “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” Variety has learned that Adam Pally (“Happy Endings,” “The Mindy Project”) is set to star in the series, once again playing the role of Wade Whipple from the film franchise.

The film takes place between the events of “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” which is slated to hit theaters Dec. 20, 2024. In the series, Knuckles “agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior,” per the official logline.

Awesome. I sort of thought it would be about Knuckles going off on his own but I’m glad he’s sticking around. Makes sense since they currently have the emeralds but when it was first announced I thought they’d go a different direction but I’m glad they didn’t.

All I know is that Ken Penders will likely claim they are screwing him over with this.

Loved the first Sonic - it was the right movie at the right time. Innocent and fun while every other flick was littered with the woke $#!( agenda.

Been meaning to see Sonic 2 and have high hopes for it, but haven't done it yet.

So given that I really like Idris Elba every time he's on-screen and the goodwill of the first Sonic movie, I'd be in for this absolutely.

Ooh, I recognize that hat!

Movie Knuckles is my favorite version so far. He’s strong, brave, honorable, naive (but not stupid) and FLUFFY.

Someone did an English redub of the Sonic Japanese ova movie and it's so much better than the official English version. Sorry, I was just reminded about that from your animated gif.

As Far as this series goes. It sounds promising and I really liked Knuckles a lot in Sonic 2. I just hope the cgi doesn't look too shoddy considering it's for a lower budget streaming series. Come to think of it, the 3d model is already made so I guess it wouldn't look much different than the movie.

I totally thought the same thing before I saw Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and during the movie. But towards the end of the movie, I thought they were going to zig to where the Knuckles show was going but then they zagged and it's now a totally different type of show. Anyway, more Knuckles is amazing for me! I can't wait to see what they do with the series. I just want them to keep the proper respect for Knuckles like they did in his first movie appearance. And seeing that hat again is just great. It was also used throughout the Archie Comics run so I have fond memories of that hat.

Surely, they kid… echid?

I would be happy if Sega gave Knuckles a new game, or at least make him fully playable in a Sonic title again.

Love Knuckles! He's my favorite Sonic character, it's a shame it's a Paramount Plus exclusive. One show isn't enough to make me wanna get another streaming service.

I'd say the most noticable improvements are Sonic and Tails voices along with the surround sound.

That would sound like something that Kenneth would do.

If he did, his Twitter account would blow up with more angry tweets. Ken seems to adore the attention.

Looks great.

Wonder if Sonic and Tails are only in a bit at the start and then the end?
