Adventures Vol 10 (Future Shark) Cover Art

Currently shown with a rehash of the mammoth cover.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/163...f_rd_i=desktop

I seem to remember one of the past volumes was originally listed with a reused Mutanimals mini series cover before the real one came out, even including a volume # superimposed over the image.

Can we assume this will get a real (new) cover, too? If not, putting this as the cover for the Future Shark Trilogy is just

I sure hope so. "Future Shark" deserves cover art that contains, well, y'know... a Future Shark.

There's been nothing but original covers, right? I imagine that trend will continue.

Once the Archie trades started skipping issues I lost interest. Can't believe #32-37 weren't reprinted. I can understand skipping the religion issues but they also skipped the Tattoo issue and the one where they return to Stump Asteroid with their wrestling costumes. Why?

I'm willing to bet they skip the Animus war issues too since those take place in Jerusalem with Arabs fighting Jews.

Yeah the stump issue should have been in. Fond memories of stopping in a 7-11 and picking it up on a summer camp trip.

I just took my original issues that were skipped and stuck them on my shelf with the trades. Ah well. Can't wait for the future shark one. Mirage reprinted it, but no color And skipped a page.

The future Shark Trilogy marks the last of the Archie material to be reprinted here in the UK, so I'm super excited for this trade and all that follow! Whole new material to me, and in my favourite version of their universe!

Many other Adventures trade covers look like that.

I would have rathered Jim Lawson continue to do the Archie covers even if his style doesn't really fit with Archie, because its better than this.

I wish they'd used an original cover from the series instead of this.
Edit: No on second thought, I'd rather they gave Chris Allan a call. If it's going to be new art on the covers it might as well be relevant and GOOD.

Hey, good to see they aren't shy about featuring Ninjara prominently!

I'm guessing this is more Lavigne/Brown art? They've been in a slump when it comes to drawing TMNT, at least to my eye. I take more issue with the bizarre and stiff layouts than I do with any of the details on the individual characters. I appreciate the muscle definition details on Shredder and the Turtles.

I remember the fan concerns that the Archie covers seemed to have some weird reluctance to use female characters. I guess they never did put April on a cover though? She doesn't really feature heavily in any of these stories from what I remember.

Agreed - Chris Allan would have done some amazing artwork.

I wonder if it will say Future Shark Trilogy on the cover, just due to the popularity of the story.

All in all, glad it's not just the temp mammoth art shown on amazon. I've expected nothing great from the covers, though in a way it's neat to see familiar characters drawn by someone else... They kinda remind me of the effort put into the OT dvd covers.

I can't help myself...still excited anyway . Thanks for sharing the image!

In the words of Hank Hill: "Dammit Bobby."

Kidding of course, as it isn't his department, but WHY oh why couldn't IDW have contracted Chris Allen? I like them using legacy Mirage alums for things, but Steve's style just doesn't deliver on the excitement that the stories had.

I realize these are geared toward a younger audience, but Chris would have been a natural choice.

Unless someone else is designing the layouts and having Steve draw around that...

It's not like Chris Allan is hard to find either. All it would take is a phone call and a decent commission rate. It's literally the most popular story in the Adventures series and people will buy it either way, but damn... why not add a little panache?

I imagine it's a money issue.

Regardless of feelings on them skipping those issues, the reason is sort of understandable... There could have been ways around it, but slightly understandable..
