TV Shows on DVD waves goodbye

The "TV Shows on DVD" website, which has existed since November 2001, waved goodbye yesterday and now moves exclusively to social media.

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/offline.html

I think it's sad to see great websites like this in favour of social media. The websites are easier when you want to explore older information. Social media can still be used to inform when the website has been updated, and what has been updated.

Not only that, but the schedule came in handy too.

I still checked the original site. I loved its quaint appearance in that it had changed so little since its inception.

Social media killed another site. Pretty soon all websites/forums will be dead and we'll all be on social media.

I wouldn't be surprise when the Technodrome community moves to the Discord server.

They at least themselves refer to these news as depressing.

It's not so much a Social Media killed a website and more of a DVD is dead and there aren't enough people to keep it profitable.

yes I know there are dozens of you who still buy DVDs but the majority doesn't.

The Drome Discord is definitely a friendlier community so far

Why don't they expand the website with information about Internet streaming if that's the biggest reason?

i'll miss the site...but I think the bigger issue is, there is no breaking dvd news anymore.

every one i've wanted has come out..and i'm sure that is true for most people. all that's left is obscurities and that usually doesn't make good news items.
