Definitely not alone... I especially always double check before going into work and after using the restroom there.

Though you'd think it should be awkward to be the person who mentions it. I mean... why are you looking at my crotch? lol

I walk around with my fly down every once in a while, it's rather rare and if it ever happens I'm embarrassed for like 3 seconds.

Now I do end up double checking from time to time if my keys/wallet/cellphone are in my pockets, that's become an annoying thing for me, hopefully I can OCD out of that one.

Some old thing Facebook reminded me that I shared 6 years ago.

"Something different for dinner, you know, just to mess with the kids."

I still kinda want to do this.

Before looking at the second picture, I thought that was meant to be a very, very sick joke

That's become like the holy trinity, man, I think we all probably do that. I know I check at least three times before leaving the house for work, to make sure I have my keys, wallet and phone. It's a rare thing now for me to forget one of the three, it's never my keys though since I have to use those to lock the door.

Weird Things you did as a Kid.

Mixing together Ketchup and Mustard onto one white piece of bread and eating it as a sandwich.

Memorizing a random license plate, wondering if I would ever see the same car twice while constantly traveling the same area. FLG 54D. Never saw the car again, but almost 15 years later, the plate number still stuck with me.

If my mom gave me a big tablespoon of peanut butter as a snack, I would sneak and put sugar on it once she was out of the room.

That sounds disgusting now.

Had a jar of pillbugs as pets. For whatever reason I really wanted to take them along in the car when we went to the Franklin Institute museum up in Philly, so I snuck the jar into the car... And then they died of the heat.

That's rather odd.

I'm realizing that my first week after graduation has potential to be wild and I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around it, because it would mean potentially two friends having to fly here, but one staying a significantly shorter time than the other.

Not sure where this goes, so.... Today after work I stopped at Taco Bell to pick up dinner. Got the food and crossed the street to head home, and as I was walking across the parking lot between an eye doctor and a furniture store in the strip on the other side, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw a large snake on the pavement in front of me. It was dark colored but the markings were suspiciously familiar. I moved a bit closer and saw that it was mortally injured- the back end had been run over by a car, probably while it was sunning itself. Some of the innards had come out but it was still barely alive.

Realizing that it was dying and helpless, unable to go anywhere, I approached to about three feet from it. That was when my suspicions were confirmed by it trying to stretch out in a "strike" mov,e and it opened its mouth. Saw the fangs quite clearly. It was, as I had suspected, a copperhead! A very dark one, but the markings and fangs were unmistakable. It was about a foot or so long. I honestly felt a little sorry for it ending up in such a bad place. Then a couple of ladies in their cars drove up and both of them asked if I needed any help or if it was poisonous. I said yes it was but it was dying. One of them then decided to finish the job by running it over again. A little surprised at the casualness of that but probably for the best to end it quickly.

What really surprised me was seeing one in the middle of downtown and especially this late in the year. I think it might have been getting a last bit of sun before searching for a den for the winter. With fall getting a late start this year, I suspect there may still be a few snakes still fairly active but it was pretty odd to find a venomous one so close to a populated area- the street behind those shops is a residential neighborhood!

not really a sports fan, but if the yankees are so hot, why are the games broadcast on some unknown network like FS1?

Why not TBS, or broadcast, or the damn YES network?

I just realized that the "What Grinds Your Gears?" thread now has 7,777 replies.

That's extremely lucky!

Looks like Powder won that prize (damn, GoldMutant and I just missed), whatever it is.

[Rumor suggests the prize is no grinds for a year, but the stipulation is having to somehow get to and live in some other parallel universe for those 365 days where that can actually be a thing.]

The f act that the Grind thread far out weighs the happy thread is rather sad.
especially since so many people think they are happy and positive compared to the rest of us .
