Synder just doesn't work well with superheroes. 300 was great, but he probably should have continued to make war films or something then join the superhero bandwagon.

I'm reminded of a saying from the fanfic side of fandom:

"The worse the source material, the better the fic."
This is how 300 can be a good movie, but Batman V Superman is just...actually I don't know what it's like, I never saw it.

Or it could just be that people are getting as bored of Snyder's schtick in much the same way folks tire of Tim Burton's work.

Believe me, it's bad. The whole thing is painful to get through.

He loves "deconstructed superheroes," in his own words. And so do most people. The problem is... he seems to completely forget about actually constructing them first.

Though a majority of fans do not like seeing there favorite superheroes deconstructed.

I didn't care for Man of Steel the first time I saw it, but it's really grown on me, and while BvS has problems, I like that one too. Snyder is obviously a fan of opera, and that's sort of how he makes his films. Obvious themes, big emotions, grand spectacle, but the plot is all over the place. I kind'a like opera too, but a lot of people don't I guess.

My worry with Justice League is that Whedon and Snyder's styles are like oil and water. Whedon's stuff is a lot more understated, and I don't know how much of his work is in that SDCC clip, but the new stuff sticks out like a sore thumb. It lurches from Syder's patented 9000 fps slow-mo, and arty camera work, to proscenium stuff like the Flash cracking wise on the rooftop, and the four of them lined up on those steps like a boy-band. He's obviously redone the colour grading too, and I’m not sure that it looks better.

I really hope Gotham City Sirens still gets made in some form or fashion... I really want to see a revamped Poison Ivy to make up for the Schumacher take.

I read an interview with Ayer that happened shortly after that Bright panel where he talked about why he was directing Gotham City Sirens. Maybe he didn't get the memo?

I did think his comments during the panel were weird when he was attached to another DC film.

Is it too late to hope for a proper Bane, played by a bulked up Javier Bardem?

I swear, I would forgive almost every f***up in BvS if we got that. In a proper Batman movie, with venom and not getting TOO carried away with size when he's on it (I don't want to see Tank Bane from the Arkham games or anything).

It would be funny seeing a mustache superman roaming around.

He looks like Stalin, whose name means Man of Steel in Russian.

Henry Cavill responded about the whole Mustache fiasco.

Dear followers,
it is time to finally set the record straight in this moustache fiasco. Pictured above, is not a set on MI6 but is in fact the latest in a series of weapons being designed by Warner Bros and Paramount Studios to combat the entity known as "Henry Cavill's Moustache". There has been no discussion over whether to shave or not to shave for the JL reshoots, simply a relentless campaign to put an end to the seemingly inexorable conquest of this despotic 'stache. It is not a question of IF I should shave - it is a question of how can we possibly be victorious against such a beast without bringing our own doom raining down upon us.

If he changed enough of the script to get a writing credit then you have to assume he would also get a co-director credit since he was the one filming all of his changes to the screenplay. Guess that's for the DGA to decide.

That only happens if Whedon or Snyder decide to take it to DGA arbitration. Which they probably wouldn't.

The movie is only... 2 and a 1/2 months away now?

So, do we think it will be better or worse than Batman V Superman?

Ehhh... better, I guess. I suspect it will suffer a little bit from Suicide Squad's "This feels like I'm watching 5 different versions of a movie all crammed into one!" thing, but I'm sure there will ultimately be some good things in it here and there.
