Seeing how Playmates handled the Movie Star boxset (making the Movie Star turtles and Super Shredder cockeyed), I don’t think an Origins-style TMNT line would be a good idea. TMNT Ultimates are perfect for right now.

Ohhh okay yeah I see what you are saying. I love the MOTU Origins line. It's the first time I've been into He-Man probably since... I dunno - 1985.

Yeah. Something like that would be great for TMNT for those who don't want to spend $50+ a figure for the Super7 line. An origin-style line and super7 ultimate line could coexist as they have different target markets.

I don't know their reasoning mikey0. Very curious.

Also though its been mentioned that they are all using 1992 Movie Star Leo's Body, the legs seem different, THey are shaped or twisted in a different way and the feet look different, much thicker. If I recall correctly, I think Movie Star Leo from that (2016?) Set of Leonardo figures had those legs. I'm not sure though.

So irritating. I missed these, and target seems to have removed the listing. Only accessible by direct link, and says "Not available for shipping". No way to get notified if it's restocked, apparently.

Can't bring myself to buy one for double price on ebay, out of principle. Scalping needs to be outlawed

Here's some pictures of the 3 figures that are the most changed from the originals. They are made of a bendable rubber, but it's much stiffer than the originals. The weapons are not nearly as brittle as past reissues- i was able to bend them without any signs of stress

Grabbed these myself on the secondary market as they are not available in Canada. I plan on keeping them mint on card, enjoy art on the cardbacks they look great in package. Minor gripes with the paint colour mainly Raph and lesser extent Mikey and reusing the 1988 Splinter but they still look cool.

The Splinter bothers me less then I thought it would I think its more to do with the retro packaging that makes it fit in with the group and being less scrutinized then if it was loose looking like a knock off or cheap repaint.

I only have the original movie star Mikey loose from when I was a kid. Initially I didn't think I'd get them because the NECA figures are so good but really got into the classic line the past few months starting to fill out the remaining figures and playsets I had sold as a kid. Very happy to have this set. The vintage Playmates stuff hits the nostalgia button with the originals and even these reprints.
