Your childhood shows
Has this been done? I've not noticed in any of the lists.
Okay so what shows do you remember liking as a child? My list will be from the 80's from but some of you will have a different decade. There are the long time runners that we've all grown up knowing like Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo. Other toons I used to watch: Dungeons and Dragons He-Man Thunder Cats Starfleet Terror Hawkes Does anyone remember the Mysterious Cities of Gold? I watched Ulysses for a while too. I also caught some 60's shows but I'm done now Edit: Okay my brain must not have had enough coffee this morning when I did this list, I missed: Flintstones Popeye The Racoons Inspector Gadget Last edited by newfan; 08-26-2017 at 12:03 PM. |

Let's see...aside from Soviet-made show, names of which, I am pretty sure, won't tell anything to anyone, I've watched (in no-particular order):
- Captain Power and Soldiers of Future (which gave me forever attachment to themes of cyborgs and AIs); - TMNT'87; - Disney Afternoon shows (Duck Tales, Chip & Dale: RR, Tales Spin, Darkwing Duck, Alladin, Bonkers, ETC); - UFO Robot Grendizer; - Macross (US version); - Go Shogun (US version); - Voltron (?); - Beast Wars; - Sailor Moon; - Witch Sally; - Nightman; - Skeleton Warriors; - Exosquad; - Skysurfer Strike Force; - Tom & Jerry (old ones); - Casper (old ones); - Felix the Cat (60s, I think); - Flintstones; - Jetstones; - Looney Tunes & Merry Melodies; - Conan the Adventurer; - Speed-Racer (90s one); - ReBoot; - Batman TAS; - Spider-Man TAS; - X-Men TAS; Last edited by Sumac; 08-26-2017 at 06:08 AM. |

I've always liked animated action-adventure and science fiction series. I would watch.
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers Darkwing Duck Ducktales Original Heman (just caught a few episodes) James Bond Junior Real Ghostbusters Superfriends Talespin 1987-1996 TMNT Would've watched much more if I'd lived in the USA instead of Sweden, making it easier to watch all those series. In Sweden, you needed cable TV or parabolic antenna to watch most of those series. Thankfully, the Internet exists and now I can watch animated action-adventure and enjoy many of them (don't care for things like Disney anymore). GARGOYLES.
And since I could only have that recorded on VHS... About half the PBS program. Cyberchase Dragon Tales Clifford Zoobumafoo (or however tf it's spelled!) Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat Arthur ...We didn't have cable. Eventually Kids WB got added in. So that included Yu-Gi-Oh Pokémon Xiaolin Showdown And when we WERE able to watch cable, such as if we were on vacation. Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (those were pretty much the two that I liked, I can't recall much for the others)

I have many but am too lazy to recall all of them. Off the top of my head, I have Tom and Jerry and Batman Beyond.

I'd say that was the early days, back in the 80's when it was first introduced. So many great shows on then. It was the FIRST network AIMED specifically at kids. Who could forget the early days of "You Can't Do That..." or "Double Dare"? By the 90's, it had already spawned both Nick Jr. for the pre-school crowd, and Nick At Night for the older nostalgic adults(shows like Mister Ed, Lassie, and the like), so had drifted a bit from the original idea.

There are so many to mention, and a lot of what's already been said.
To add some not yet mentioned... of course Fraggle Rock! Also things like, in no particular order, The Wuzzles, Zoobilee Zoo, Shirt Tales, Gummi Bears, Dave Coulier's Nick show Out of Control, and what oldies here remember Pinwheel? |

YES! To all of those. Nick was one of my "best friends" growing up, as it was launched when I was still young enough to appreciate all those shows aimed at younger viewers, but old enough to also start getting into the ones for older kids, too. Pinwheel was never a favorite of mine, but I still remember the theme song, LOL!

Let's see...I'll most likely be leaving out some I'm sure but these are the ones that first spring to mind:
Disney Afternoon Shows were gold to me. My family had a limited amount of screen time we could watch on weekdays but since I would do my homework while watching TV (and still pull good grades) my mom would allow me domination over the television for the whole block. So I would watch: Ducktales, Chip n dale Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Bonkers, Gargoyles, Mighty Ducks, Quack Pack, Little Mermaid, Timon and Pumbaa, and Aladdin. And honestly, with a few exceptions, most of these I still enjoy. Watched TMNT naturally and Fraggle Rock, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Thundercats, Beetlejuice, Captain Planet, Secret Life of Alex Mack, Under the Umbrella Tree, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Conan and the Young Warriors, Reboot, Muppet Babies, Garfield and Friends, Scooby doo, Inspector Gadget... I got into anime when I was late in high school but mainly Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon and Inuyasha. Dabbled in Death Note in college. |
