The latter statement may be true, but I wouldn't say nobody cares about it. All three movies are fantastic.

Back to the Future is the best triology of them all. There is NO better triology. The first game was alright, but the second BTTF game sucked. There was talk of a number 4 but Michael J Fox cant do it bc of the Parkinsons (sp?). They tried a cartoon, but that didn't last long.

Parts I and II were exceptional, Part III blew serious chunks. And what about the original Star Wars trilogy?

Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Spider-Man, Bourne Trilogy, X-Men, Pirates of the Caribbean...should I keep going?

And I'm not even saying Back to the Future is bad, I loved it when I was a kid, but saying that it's still on the minds of the mainstream as much as Ghostbusters is is a joke. And mentioning it in light of a new videogame is an even bigger joke.

... Harsher than I would have put it, but that's how I see it.

I never said it was mainstream anymore. I just said it was the best triology.

Pirates, the first movie was the only good one.
X-Men, 3rd was kinda eh
Bourne Triology, good, but not as good as BTTF
Spider-Man, are you serious? three was the worse of them all, quite disappointing
Indiana Jones, yes good, but Temple of Doom, did you seriously like it?
Lord of the Rings, eh alright but over rated
Star Wars, yes, original triology good

Loved it...thought last Crusade is my favorite.

I wanted to comment on the title only.
"Ghostbusers! Sounds like something Buslady'd be into. Bus drivers whose primary customers are the undead...brilliant!"
I'm done now.

A Ghostbuster game would be cool, I guess as long as it's not as bad as the ones reviewed by James the AVGN. Maybe this is the fore-bearer for the 3rd movie.

Hmm, never even noticed that typo.

Couldn't agree more, and good choices all around although I would like to add one more: The Alien trilogy. Aliens in particular I feel has been a major inspiration for sci-fi media even until this day (The marines in Halo for example.)

I only bring it up because I just watched Alien and Aliens last night and was just reminded how awesome they are. And of course, they've been making Alien games for some time now.

It's funny you bring this up. A friend and I were having this very conversation about how in a trilogy there is usually one that is considered the weak child or which one is generally considered the best. And of course we came to the conclusion that the original Star Wars Trilogy is the only one in which opinions are evenly split across all three movies.

Although to be fair, I really need to see all three Bourne movies in succession to accurately judge that one.

I agree that Back to the Future is not the best trilogy but it's definitely a classic and comparing it to mediocre trilogies like "Pirates" or "X-Men" is BLASPHEMY!

Pirates isn't even really a triology, it's crap lol. The first movie was the best of those three. The other two just sank, pun intended. I'm surprised no one brought Matrix up. That's a triology to say the least.

What's a "triology"?

And the Matrix trilogy sucks.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (live-action) was a trilogy, and it certainly lived up to the trend of "the first was the only undisputed champion" trend.

Unfortunately, Ghostbusters may never be a trilogy... in the traditional sense... unless they do three of these CGI films.

No it wasn't. In terms of movies, a trilogy is a single story split up into a beginning, middle, and ending. A series of three isn't automatically a trilogy.

And to say X-Men and Spider-Man are better 'trilogies' than Back to the Future is a lie, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

Yes BttF is a great Trilogy...one of my favorites. Along with TMNT, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars. X-men and Spider-man fall on the list, but definably after BttF.

What the hell is even going on in here? Fighting over what a trilogy is? Arguing about if Spider-Man is better than Back to the Future? Seriously, guys. That's some stupid sh*t that should be relegated to the TV and Movies section. Not here.

We argue about which suit Mario looked cutest in, and whether or not the casual game player is ruining our industry! Keep the menial crap out of here! Leave the VG section for the important stuff!
